🌡️ Clamp in, measure up, and never miss a beat!
The TL0005 Pipe Clamp Temperature Lead is a precision accessory designed for K-Type thermocouple sensors, enabling accurate temperature measurement on pipes ranging from -40°C to 200°C. Its compact clamp fits pipes up to 1 3/8 inches in diameter, paired with a 40-inch cord for versatile placement, making it an essential tool for professionals demanding reliable, on-the-spot thermal diagnostics.

Great value
Pipe clamp thermocouples generally seem to be overpriced and under engineered. I keep the primary pair I’m using in a zippered pouch along with a few other items. Sometimes it gets carried from the van and sometimes it gets placed in a tool bag. The pipe clamps I’ve used typically have one of two failures. Either they break near the pivot point or the wires break near the clamp or near the plug (usually near the clamp). Not only is this metal clamp in the running for the cheapest pipe clamp, it works well and holds up well too. It seems to handle BOTH smaller and larger lines than most of the other clamps I’ve used. It handles all the way down to 1/4” and up to at least 1&1/8” (I may have used it for bigger than that but I know for a fact I’ve used it on 1&1/8” many times). I have yet to have one break which accounted for about 1/2 of the failures I experienced with ALL of the other plastic ones. I have FINALLY had to replace 2 because of wire breakage but they lasted A LOT longer than any of the plastic ones ever have and for a fraction of the cost. The various plastic ones tend to cost 50%-300% more than these. The accuracy seems to be comparable to the other thermocouple clamps. Thermocouples just aren’t as accurate as thermistors but these have appeared to be in line with other clamps.

Works perfect for Auber fan controller
This is a direct replacement for the probe used on my Auber fan controller I use on my BBQ smoker. The original probe got crimped and had an intermittent fault - after 8 years use. This probe is accurate and reads within 1 degree of my other probes I use. I use them between 40f and 300f temps and they always match each other.

Save your money
I ordered this to replace a failed temp clamp on my aging Field Piece 3 manifold set. I don't use this all that much anymore but when the original clamp broke, I needed a new one. I ordered this one as it was a good price and as I said before, I don't use it all that much anymore so I couldn't justify spending over $100 dollars on the Field Piece replacement. Sadly, as they say, you get what you pay for. The third time it was used (in two years), when I removed it from the line set, the clamp shattered. It is made out of the thinnest material possible and simply squeezing the handles to open the clamp was more than it could handle. It is built more like a toy than a tool and is now trash. I will be ordering another one from a DIFFERENT supplier and if it looks anything like this piece of garbage, it will be sent back immediately. I am writing this review to anyone that is thinking about ordering this product to look elsewhere because it does not have the durability to do its job and when in the field, you need your equipment to be reliableand this one simply is not.

Does the job
No less or more breakable than its peers. Does the job, and that’s about it. Far more durable than Fieldpiece or UEI

Not for daily use
Wire is short and resistance was bad after a few weeks of daily use. Bad enough to really mess with temp readings.

How hot is it?
Wow! 860 degrees Fahrenheit while using the self-cleaning cycle of our Frigidaire Professional gas range. (Per an undocumented search on Google, the cleaning cycle should max out at 900 degrees.)This $10 K-type thermocouple with alligator clips plugged right into our $33 RISEPRO 4 Channel K Type Digital Thermometer. While the combination cannot compete with the likes of Fluke meters, for a quick check on our outdoor gas grill, or indoor oven, this appears to be respectable and useful. This addition to the digital thermometer permits clipping to the interior of the oven or gas grill and provides a higher maximum temperature exposure. The other standard leads confirmed that the adjacent cabinets remained safely cool if the doors were kept open.I have discovered that the reading appears to be influenced by several factors including: ambient temperature of the total cable, total time that the thermometer has been "on", and the effect of cycling the thermometer on and off.

Long Thermocouple Lead
Used this to measure skin temperatures on catalytic converter. It worked good but probably would've had greater accuracy if I had used some type of insulating tape.

DO NOT USE FOR HVAC LIQUID LINE
NOT good for the liquid line (the thin line) from an A/C compressor. Might work for very specific uses, but definitely not that great for smaller diameter piping. I had bought it before more reviews illustrated this fact, so hopefully the feedback encourages the vendor to make a note.....in BIG LETTERS. DO NOT USE FOR HVAC LIQUID LINE. THE LEADS WILL SLIP OFF THE LINE, and INCORRECT READINGS WILL RESULT.
