Fit up a little tricky, as someone else suggested. Leave everything loose before tightening. Supplied pan head fasteners are a joke. Mounting holes in pan are oversized and pan heads will work themselves thru eventually. Go out and buy some oversized pan headed fasteners. Mounting hole Dimples aren’t deep enough to prevent possible catching of bolt heads but otherwise, pleased with sturdiness and design which does protect key components. With 30 mm pan heads, was able to keep my original plastic guards under new skid plate for a little extra cushion and shock protection.

The skid plate looks nice but the edges are sharp and 1 of the mounting holes were mislocated. I followed other reviewers instruction and left the mounting bolts loose. It absolutely would not go.I purchased quality hardware from local hardware store with larger screw heads prior to install. After redrilling the top front hole it mounted successfully. I am overall happy with it just plan on tinkering a lil to make it work.

Great buy for the price. Reason for the low stars is the side plates wasn’t welded all the way and was easy to bend. Luckily I can weld so I fixed myself. And the mounting holes we’re not lining up correctly so had to drill them out bigger so bolts could make it in the holes. But for what I used it for was great. Wouldn’t recommend to someone doing a lot of hard off-road riding

Nice price, installed on 2005 DRZ400sm, seems to be sturdy enough to keep rocks from popping a hole in my cases, The mounting holes lined up perfectly, but I had to put spacers between plate and frame. I filed the rough edges a little and bent sides for a tighter fit. Should work good enough for my use.

Sturdy protection, nice fit. Sides can be easily adjusted with a slight kick with(soft) hummer, in case you'll feel them to be a bit wider. The only drawback is the engine sound echo, but this i guess will be there for any other aluminum skid plate.

" approx 16 playing cards thick.Lower engine case protection from side wings.Install was a bit tricky.i suggest inserting front left screw first .. only a few threads.then the rear most screw, because you will need to flex it up a bit.the rest will be easy.Overall im totally happy with this bash plate, especially considering the price.

Ive had this skid plate on my DRZ400 for a few months now doing regular dirt, single track, and trails. I have bottomed out a lot and this plate has taken it all in stride. Ive dented and dinged it pretty good but it has held up and protected my engine. Would highly recommend if you need cheap security when you're off-road. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

So far still good after several hundred of off-road trails and the sound of rocks banging on the skid plate
