Excellent replacement keyfob
I purchased this replacement keyfob to replace the cheap, low quality OEM GM keyfob that are not designed to last very long. The unlock button on my original keyfob broke, again, after just a few years of use. My car came with two, which are both broken now.The dealer quoted around $250 to get a new keyfob, so this replacement was a MUCH better option. It is a little difficult to open the OEM keyfob -- you basically have to break it with a screwdriver to get inside. The replacement keyfob is designed to be opened, and has a small screw on the back. This item even came with the tiny screwdriver, in case you don't' already have one.Once you have the OEM keyfob open, you simply move the control board over to the new replacement keyfob. There are videos on YouTube on how to move the metal key part over, but that usually results in the inability to lock, or close the metal key part once it is open. I simply took my keyfob to WalMart and had them cut the blank to match, for under $10.Also, some reviews mentioned the Chevy logo sticker was missing. I found my Chevy logo inside the replacement OEM keyfob, after opening it. It is very small, of course, so once you open the replacement keyfob, be careful to check for the sticker.

Great price and quality but do your homework before you start
This is a high quality replacement for the factory key fob. We have a 2014 Cruze. Just a suggestion: watch some YouTube videos on how to get the old factory fobs apart before delving in. I damaged one of the circuit boards trying to do it without any guidance. And call around for pricing on having inside cut keys done. Not many places do it. I ended up spending $30 to have the key cut because I was in a hurry and didn't have time to call around. I'm sure it can be done cheaper. The keys do not need to be programmed if you swap the factory key fob circuit board. The encoding is built into that, not the key blade. I think I read a review that said you can swap over the factory key blade to the new fob and skip getting the key cut, but I was unable to do that. The old parts did not fit properly into the new fob unless you sacrifice the ability to fold it and pop it open with the button.

Love, Love, Love my Fob
Easily, my smartest purchase ever. I'd used my original key for so long, the lock and unlock buttons had fallen off. So happy to have found this replacement in Amazon. My only disappointment is that I didn't find it a year ago when I purchased my first replacement. My first replacement cost me 3X's as much as the replacement I purchased from Amazon and in not going to even talk about what it cost to have them programed, but I love that I'm able to get in my car without almost being electrocuted😊. Telling all my friends who have cars that use fobs.

Fits well, had to swap key head
For the price, this is excellent, looks 95% like the original. I had some trouble taking apart the old key fob as the case halves are glued together. Prying did not work, needed a good whack with a hammer and a screwdriver between the case halves. Do be careful, don't hit the circuit board inside. One star off because I had to remove the key head itself from the pivot. Using the old key as I suspect most people will do, it would close and lock down against the fob. The new key head is just a TINY bit different than the original. I had to user a hammer and nail to whack the roll pin out of the key head and swap the old key head in for the new. After that, everything worked perfectly. The process was a little annoying, but for the price, it's worth it.

DO NOT BUY
I bought this for my 14 Malibu and cannot get it apart to replace with my original FOB. I work at a body shop with skilled professional technicians. NOT ONE PERSON can get it apart. This was a waste of money and time.

Total pain, nothing is easy.
Seems like it’s going to break. However I don’t know how. With the amount of force I had to use to get it apart it should with stand a nuclear bomb. Finally got it apart and back together successfully. After trimming a few plastic areas to make it go back together. On to replacing the key blade to the original. Punched the roll pin out on both only to find the new fob came with a different length blade. I trimmed the old one to where it needed to be on the back side. Only to find that the slot for the roll pin doesn’t line up. Had to file it into the proper groove for the pin to slide in. Tapped the new pin back in. What a freaking mess.

Clearly not as nice as OEM
The overall look and feel is nice, however, if you're moving a key blade from an old doto this one you'll have to do some filing of the notch to get the roll pin to seat correctly. Also, the Chevy logo on this is a cheap piece of foil that's poorly painted. (You can carefully remove your old one and glue it in place on this fob)It serves its purpose, but it's definitely a knock-off from China.

works quite well for my 2014 cruze
everything about this went almost exactly as i expected.opening the oem fob, total PITA, but i was using a hot air station to heat it up and peal away piece by piece till it was able to be pryed open carefully. but all that was the oem device.coming over to this new one it was nice and easy to assemble. no glue! yay.the blade was swappable with the roll pin knockout for me.the trickiest thing was getting the "switch blade" action to work correctly. but all you need to do there is loosely assemble it, then spin the top(or bottom) housing around while keeping the spring in place. i found that 2 spins gave it a nice clunking action (after i figured out which way to spin, the wrong way makes it push itself closed. )

This did not fit my 2010 Equinox as stated.
Didn't fit.
