Levven GoConex Simple Wireless Dimmer Switch Kit, Decora Style Switch, No Wire Dimmer Light Control Kit (Dimmer Kit)

I replaced a ceiling fan that was over a dining room table with a hanging light fixture. Unfortunately the previous homeowner had remodeled and the wiring to the fan was for only a wireless remote control and there was no wall switch. This device allows me to have a wall switch looking remote mounted on the wall and have full control of the light fixture including dimming. This was an easy solution. A bit more expensive than I would have liked but in retrospect it is probably worth it. The product has much more capability than I am using it for but this was the most elegant of the solutions that I could find. Easy install by myself, the home owner, who hates doing electrical work. Product is recommended.

This is a great solution for controlling a light without the need of pulling wires for the switch. In my case I had upgraded a ceiling fan which had a light but my wall outlet had only one switch. After installing the fan, I removed the fan wireless receiver and replaced it with the GoConex light control and wired the control receiver directly to the light. I replaced the wall switch with a Lutron fan controller switch and then connected the fan motor directly to this circuit. I was able to do all of this because in the ceiling I had one hot which was connected to the Lutron switch and an additional hot which was not switched (I found this wiring inside the switchbox e.g. red and black wires going to the ceiling to make this possible). I replaced the switch cover with a duplex switch cover. One great thing about the GoConex remote switch is that it fits perfectly within the switch cover so no holes in the wall are needed. Additionally, the switch plate screws will self tap into the GoConex switch which secure the switch while looking like a standard switch installation.Everything works well; the switch controls the dimming and On-Off functions of the light. My main complaint which boils down to poorly written firmware is how the switch performs. Press the top of the switch the light turns on, press the bottom of the switch the light turns off (sometimes). Press and hold the top of the switch and the light intensity increases. Press and hold the bottom of the switch the light intensity decreases. Sometimes it takes more than one try for these functions to work; it is not ideal but for the only solution in town I will live with it!

If I could rate this as a black hole i would. The unit remote control didn't work out of the box. I checked the battery and it had voltage but no indicator LED. So I tried to call customer service and THEY WERE CLOSED UNTIL AFTER THE NEW YEAR!! I took it down, restored the original wiring and put the trash controls back in the box. I lost 150 bucks of labor.. Now I have to package them up to get a refund. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

It does the basic job just fine without meeting the expectations. The dimmer is incompatible with lot of LED lights. Even the ones Lutron is compatible with easily. On and Off function is not as responsive as other low priced high quality switches. The biggest dissatisfaction is with dimmer switch. Dimmer function is press and hold which is not intuitive as well as effortless. Easy to install and program. The only thing I’ve noticed is that when the microwave runs I get a flicker in one of the lights and the light is on a totally different circuit than the microwave. The flicker goes away when the microwave/oven goes off or when I dim the light while the microwave is still on. I can deal with that minor inconvenience. Very cool and it saved a lot of $$$ on an electrician cutting drywall to hardwire a switch. I used this to run to sconces on one switch. So I bought one dimmer switch and then a separate dimmer. Was easy to pair both and get them on the same dimmer setting. Great product thus far.

As a contractor, these come in handy to save drywall repairs for hard to fish walls. Cost effective and reliable solution.

It's too expensive to wire up my walls again - this was the perfect solution! Works awesome. Wouldn't say the dimmer option is easily usable - it's a bit tricky with the hold down parts, but otherwise this is great and exactly what I needed.

We used this product to control some LED track lighting at the Yale University Summer Art School Barn where we didn't want to install any surface mounted wiring on the concrete walls. I purchased just 1 set to try it first. It worked so well that I just ordered (12) more! Vert nice.
