Juiced Systems USB-C 12" Macbook 5-in-1 Adapter

Either DOA or just plain doesn't work as advertised. Neither SD nor Micro SD/SDHC slots worked at all. Tried multiple cards with differing formats and sizes. Only one of the USB ports would work at all, and then only with a very low capacity flash drive from 2010. Tried multiple hard drives on the USB ports also and couldn't get any that were Mac Journaled formatted to read (which is ironic since this is for a Mac). Gave up and will keep looking.

I really like this 5-in-1 adapter for my Macbook. I read other reviews where people said it didn't stay plugged in, but I've used this several times, for a few hours each use, and it's stayed in place just fine. Based on other users' feedback I decided not to put a cover on the bottom (I did by a hard plastic clamshell cover, but only put on the top, which means I'm not affecting access to the port).Mostly I have used this as a USB connector for other devices like a DVD drive, etc., but I also used an SD card on which I had photos and it all worked well. The price was good vs buying multiple adapters, since almost nothing works with the Macbook USB-C drive without an adapter. Also, the cover is metal -- I was afraid it would be cheap plastic, but it seems solidly made if you consider that all that holds it onto your Macbook is the USB-C plug. Unlike some reviewers I haven't had any experiences where it's slipped or had poor connectivity. It just works and does its job.The only minor downside is: This adapter doesn't have a USB-C connector. I was using the DVD drive for a few hours and the battery on my Macbook got very low. It would have been nice to be able to charge my Macbook at the same time that I was using the DVD drive. But that's not my normal use, so this isn't a big deal for me.

Absolute nightmare of a product. I am trying to run a USB device through it and ill it does is overheat and it just recently shorted out. I hate writing reviews and find them petty but I want to warn anyone thinking about buying this. It is complete garbage.

Very happy with this product. Performs as advertised. This adaptor solves the one Ubc only lnput on the MacBook. This adaptor doesn't have a Ubc input but they do make one at twice the price if you feel the need to charge while using the adaptor. I didn't feel that would be necessary of your MacBook is charged before using it.The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that I felt this adaptor shouldn't cost twice as much to get it with the Usbc port replacing 1 of the 3 USB ports. How often would one use 3 USB ports at a time?

It just never worked. I purchased it to keep in my bag for the day it would be needed (which isn't often). It never worked, as in never. A small light comes on indicating it's being powered by the computer, however, no media or cable connected to / through it works.Well done Juiced Systems. Great quality control in delivering a product that doesn't work.

This product isn't what I thought it would be. The jack for charging my laptop doesn't work with my iMac charger port but it is still useful for when I need to plug in a flash drive or use a wireless mouse. it's just unfortunate I cannot charge my laptop when I'm using this device...Broke less than week after buy. I paid good money hoping it would last but now I have to fiddle with it just to get it to work. it's so annoying.

Only thing to be aware of is that you want to run Apple specific product off this it will not work. I have a Apple disc drive to put on my Macbook, it doesn't get enough power through this. I am a little frustrated by the inability to that and a zip drive in my laptop at once.

Good material. Help me to connect multiple devices at the same time.

Don't waste your money on this dongle. It over heats, and it is a huge concern when you are using SD/mini SD with it.

Data transfer is not very fast and the connection wavers if bumped. It only works if the long edge is exactly parallel to the edge of my laptop.
