First let me start off by saying that I am an African American with bra strap length curly, coily natural hair. I first heard of this product through YouTube. I needed a cleansing shampoo with either tea tree oil or peppermint for my often itchy scalp. The Giovanni's tea tree triple treat shampoo contains botanical oils such as cooling peppermint, conditioning rosemary and clarifying eucalyptus, all a plus! when I received the shampoo I was immediately impressed by the shape of the container and how it felt while holding it. Most shampoo products are cylinder in shape which is hard to hold once it gets wet and soapy especially in the shower. The Giovanni's is a rectangle shaped bottle, that allows for a better grip while in your hand. Now on to the product itself. The fragrance is fresh and tingly you can definitely smell the peppermint. It gives a really nice lather and yes, you can feel the tingle. What I love most about this product is how fresh and clean it makes my scalp feel. Also the fact my hair never feels stripped after using is a major plus! But. Do not make the mistake of getting it in your eyes!! Your eyes will burn therefore I don't reccommend this product for small children. And note that if you use this product in the shower your backside will tingle as well. Overall I am really pleased with the shampoo and as a matter of fact i;m on my second bottle.

I bought this for my husband, because the "men's" brand he normally uses has a powerful, artificial scent that literally makes it so I can't go into the bathroom for an hour after he showers without triggering a migraine or nausea. So my expectation was just that it wouldn't make me sick, but it's so much more than that! In fact, I've been using it myself. This has a pleasant, not-overpowering scent of mint and eucalyptus. It has a lovely tingle on the scalp but not the ice-cold shiver of some tea tree brands. It's also sulfate-free, which is AMAZING because it's not only healthier, but it allows me to use it on my color-treated hair without risk of stripping it. It doesn't foam up as much as conventional shampoos with SLS, but it's definitely above-average in foaming for a sulfate free shampoo. It leaves my long wavy hair smooth, fresh, and shiny. I'll be buying this by the gallon from now on.

Smooth hair, less dry

I've been looks for what feels like forever for a good shampoo that doesn't contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. I FINALLY found what I was looking for in this tea tree shampoo. Other sulfate-free shampoos left my hair feeling limp and still dirty, while this shampoo leaves my hair fresh, clean, shiny, and bouncy. I can even go a couple days without shampooing and still have clean hair, something I could never do previously. I also love how this shampoo has no lasting scent. Other shampoos with lasting scents always interfere with the scent of whatever perfume I'm wearing. I don't get much scalp tingle from the shampoo like other reviewers have noted, but I can tell my scalp is much healthier because of the tea tree oil. I'm so happy to say that I've finally found a shampoo I'm completely happy with after years of looking! I'm looking forward to trying to matching conditioner.

Love the shampoo! Love how its safe for colored hair. The tea tree oil scent is refreshing and it lathers well! Doesn't over dry hair, looks and feels great.

The shampoo arrived in a plastic bag with 10% spilled into the bag. I returned it. The shampoo itself is wonderful.

I love this shampoo - it's gentle to my extra fine hair while feeling and smelling gently invigorating as I wash. My hair likes it too. A little goes a long way... Great product!
