The hook isn't at 90º to the blade and needs adjusting and bending with pliers. Once adjusted the tape readings are the same from front and back. Even though the tape is metric, its width is marked in inches on the casing. The blade is thin and slightly bent, straight from the box. This is Gen1, smaller and more compact (which is nice). It's OK for everyday use but I would swap for Gen2 as soon as it becomes available on Amazon.

Dropped this from height a few times and no damage a all. Tape has great stand out range and construction of tape housing is solid, compact and comfortable in the hand. Tape lock works well. My only criticism is the rewind spring isn’t all that strong and tape needs a helping hand sometimes to re-spool.

After extensive testing we found the "stand out" of only 3593mm. This was under indoor conditions, temperature 19 degrees, humidity 83%. Disappointing - but we have adapted our processes to work around this.The 30m drop test has proved harder to perform. We have been thrown off one of our sites for dropping it from the 7th floor.Likes - the holes in the hook give a very welcome weight reduction. This really makes a difference when carrying this around all day on your tool belt.Looking forward to Shockforce 2 already!! Hopefully the long promised carbon fibre upgrade will be included. Forget the bluetooth integration, this is old tech.

Cool gimmick to have an inverted tape, although it doesn’t actually do much. End of the tape measure is pretty much impossible to read upto 40mm making it rubbish for small measurements, also now the blade has already started to tear after only 3 months of regular use as a joiner. Going back to Stanley fatmax 👍

I have a much cheaper one from aldi and its much better and does not bend so easily, this is very strong and will probably last a very long time , (probably lose it 1st). I expected the tape to be of the wider variety which don't bend so easily but this is not the case . for this price a little dissapointed , well made , accurate, easy to see, grabs things well, but folds too easily after 1 1/2 m when in use , which is extremely annoying

Nice looking tape, replacing me old 8m Stanley which got too much rain in it and died 😥, amazing visibility on this tape, grabs well. Nice colours but 🙀 it says on the packaging it come in “ extends to 4.3 m “ so I thought id check it and sadly that’s not true! Only extended to 2.6 m 😱 shocking

Have this tape less than a month, I work outdoors in groundworks, if it gets anybit wet it will not close , doesn't clip to trousers easily either , my last tape for same money lasted 1.5 years , this tape is ideal for indoor use and dry work
