It's not an A O Smith!! But not Bad.
We ordered this motor to replace a Hayward Super Pump motor. After reading the label on the Hayward unit I noticed that the motor was manufactured by A O Smith, which means quality. When the motor arrived from Amazon I noticed the box was from Century, another electric motor company. In my opinion, a step below A O Smith. The motor inside was a century motor, the box said Century and in small print under the Century name was" A former A O Smith Electric Motor Company". So A O Smith sold to Century. Not a big problem. The motor was the same design and frame size I ordered with the same specs as far as rpm and horsepower. The issue was when I removed the cover to access the electrical connectors. The small white plastic "circuitry board" where the connectors and voltage switch is located was shattered in about six directions. It's not made of such a rigid plastic that it was still together but cracked all over near mounting screw. It looked as if this might have been a previous return, or recklessly assembled and never checked for quality before leaving century. Since we already started the opening of our pool I was in need of this motor now and couldn't wait for another after returning this one to Amazon. I proceeded to break out the JB Weld two part epoxy and repair the plastic. I removed the mounting screw and applied epoxy to the pieces and held together until it set, then applied more to both sides to seal all cracks and reinforce the rest of the plastic. Once dry and cured after a few hours I was able to assemble electrical connections. This is where I realized what could have happened. The end cover is not as deep as the old motor,(less clearance under the end cap), and forces you to use the flat blade push-on style crimp connectors that side mount instead of straight on so the wires are not shoved into the plastic when installing the end cover. Or one could just use the loop style crimp-on connectors that mount under the screws, can use either of these methods. Once hooked up, the motor worked great, and is very quiet. Don't get me wrong I do like Century electric motors as I've used them before, just preferred A O Smith if having a choice, but it doesn't matter anymore since A O Smith Electric Motors is now owned by Century Electric Motors. The super pump is running great and pool is clear and the motor is staying cool and quiet, the most important reasons for ordering this motor in the first place. So I'm happy over all, but would have liked an undamaged unit from the get go. I lost only one day due to having to repair motor, but in the end it's working great. I would recommend this motor to replace any Hayward Super pump motor. Keep in mind that if you order one of these dual voltage motors, it's better to operate on 230 volt than 115 volt. Motor will run cooler and not work as hard and you'll get more life out of your Super pump motor. Just would be nice to know what brand I was actually receiving or ordering. Amazon should change the description to Century since it is what you'll going to receive. As always Amazon service was great, fast and hassle free shipping! Thanks again Amazon!

Pump was a perfect replacement for my Hayward unit.
The pump installed easily, and, works quietly. I didn't realize how much of a difference the new pump makes filtering the pool. I do want to mention the packing of the pump was not great. To take a heavy unit like the pump, and, put it in a flimsy box with minimal packing material was a mistake. A mistake that probably got the unit put aside in the shippers site. I was informed the unit was lost and that I should apply for a refund after a couple of days. Luckily, the unit showed up on the day I was going to ask for a refund. Although packed poorly, the unit was not damaged, and, I was able to use it.

Great Pool Pump " Replacement" Motor
I bought this motor to replace a faulty motor on my pool pump. The specs on this motor was the same as what I was replacing, this motor has a little better heat tolerance. It started up fine, plenty of torque, amp draw spot on, and temperature is within designed range. I am operating the motor at 240 volts, it runs great at this voltage, not sure how well it would perform at 120 volt.

Century Electric UST1152
Received motor on time and installed. Immediately noticed a faint high pitched sound. The noise progressively became louder in the next few days. I removed and disassembled the motor to find the pump-side bearing was failing and extra grease on one side of each bearing. I'm guessing the assemblers knew they had a bearing issue and forced extra grease through the double seal but it didn't work. In order to same time, I installed a new set of Timken bearings on my new motor instead of playing the 'return' waiting game. The motor is now quiet. I gave this a 1 star. Not due to the seller but for my repair time and the extra $16 for the new bearings.

Great price, fast delivery
Liked ease of installation and price. I've used these Century motors on my pool pump a few times and find myself replacing them every 18-24 months tho.

Do NOT BUY from this seller!!!
Do not buy from this seller. Standard warranty on a motor like this is 1 year. My return window was only 2 months! Motor worked fine until a few weeks ago and then it stopped. Contacted the seller only to be told there is no warranty. Pay the extra money and buy from someone reputable that will honor the standard 1 year warranty. I repeat. DO NOT BUY from this seller. They don’t stand behind the products they sell. Gave it one star because I couldn’t leave it blank. I much rather had given it no stars. A motor like this should have lasted me at least 5 seasons in my pool. $400 and it didn’t even last one.

Works great
Works great, easy to install. Also, my pool heater now fires up without a small explosion which is a bonus. Didn't expect that!
