Injustice 2 (2017-2018) Vol. 4

Love the characters , tension, and drama unfolding ! This has been my favorite volume so far in this series!

I simply can't wait for this next book. This one leaves you on the edge of your seat and ready for the next step no matter where it's gonna go.

It was great, had better action, showed more characters and villains. Had more interesting villains besides superman and the regime.

In my review of “Injustice 2: Volume 3,” I wrote “I’m actually running out of things to say about this series: Tom Taylor is delivering, for my money, the best ongoing series that DC is currently publishing.” One volume later, and I literally have nothing else to bring to the table: this series still rocks, Taylor’s story is as compelling as ever, and the art by Bruno Redondo and Mike S. Miller is almost always top-notch (which, when you consider that this is a digital-first series, released WEEKLY, is doubly impressive). “Injustice 2” is proof that videogame-inspired fiction have the potential to be every bit as great as any other types of stories.

Like the first Injustice series, this one is getting a little lost in the middle volumes. Characters appear and are killed off too quickly, character motivations are all over the place and not fully fleshed out, and there are previously branching storylines that connect tangentially, but aren't really coming together. It's still very entertaining, but more noisy and overwhelming than well-paced and coherent. On balance, I still say it's worth it for the glimmers of cool moments, but this is definitely one of the weakest entries so far, on the level of Injustice Year 4 if not weaker than that.
