Finally a good budget bag!
So my last budget sleeping bag purchase didn't perform to standards at all, so despite researching many bags before settling on this one, I was nervous. I bought the 0f bag figuring it can cover what my old bag wouldn't. My old bag was a 20f, but it was incapable of keeping me warm at 40f, I had to use a fleece liner and down blanket to keep warm.So first of all, incase you are unfamiliar, sleeping bags in this price range are not rated for comfort temperature, they are rated for survival temperature. You should expect to be comfortable at about 20f above the rating if you dress in cold weather sleeping attire and insulate yourself from the ground. So for reference, I am 6'2" 220lb and wear large shirts and pants, size 13 feet. I found the dimensions of the bag to be perfect for me. It is 2" larger in every dimension from my old bag, and the footbox is adequate. For my test, I slept out in a lean-to tarp shelter with an overnight low of 22f. I laid out a space blanket and a 4.4R inflatable pad for ground insulation. I'm not really a back sleeper, so I had some concerns about the "body mapping" insulation not being there on the bottom. My concerns were alleviated, I turned half the night like a convenience store hotdog like I usually do, and found no cold spots. Getting back in after a late night pee is always chilly, but lift the insulation and blow down to your feet a few times, your hot breath warms the bag back up in seconds. The zipper is about on par with everything else I have. It's strong and not prone to getting off track, but has a tendency to snag when zipping up from the inside. I have yet to see a bag that doesn't... The Velcro flap at the top stops it from coming open under tension, but I found I liked having the top few inches of zipper undone so I could move my arms.Lastly, the materials. The outer shell does a good job of blocking wind and moisture, and seems pretty durable compared to other bags I've had. The inner fabric is soft, but doesn't snag like flannel. It feels like microfiber bedsheets, which I use at home. And the insulation, the loft is impressive. For the first time, I was actually amazed I got a bag back into it's stuff sack. I put the footbox in the sack, and it's full... Yet, you can actually keep stuffing and get the whole thing in there. Now a note on the sack, I'd give it 3 stars if I could rate it separately. It does it's job fine so far, but for some reason they felt compelled to sew a band around the lower part of the sack about 3" above the bottom seam. This is the point the compression straps are sewn to, rather than looping under the bottom. This concerns me that it may burst that seam over time. It doesn't even look like they saved any material in the process, it's just plain stupid.Overall, extremely pleased with my purchase.

Get this bag!
WOW. Where to start...If you are doing any research on bags and temperature ratings, you know that the low end rating is for SURVIVAL not comfort. We slept in hammocks, with no under liners, in low 30's (F) and were absolutely comfortable in the Shenandoah State Park. In fact, I had to open up a couple times to let in a bit of cool air. I generally run cooler, and get chilled easily. Not this time. In fact, when I intruded on my son to see if he was ready for breakfast, a heat reminiscent of Somalia at Christmas came billowing out of his hammock. OK, I exaggerate a little, but it was HOT air!I did notice a slight cold spot under me, but the wind as blowing, and it was snowing. The cool spot didn't even affect my comfort. At 5' 9" tall, the bag was big enough for me .I highly recommend this product.

Field tested in 5 degrees F ........ -15C
I took a Pack-In Trip this weekend up in Michigan the day temp high was 27F the night temp got down to 5F and this Bag went with me in my back-pack Im not gonna lie I was afraid abit seeing id be 7 miles from the trailhead and my truck . I winter pack alot as low as -33F is my record to date and I usually take my Ascend-Bag because I trust all 3 of them depending on temp- rate. So here's my review . Foot -box was AWESOME!!! love the extra insulation factor my feet have never been so comfortable "Ascend should take note of this" ,Length is AWESOME! Im 6'3" and I had extra room to stretch, Shoulder width was abit tight but comfortable I wear a 56 coat size and have a 36" waist so it worked out Ok for me.. This Bag packs pretty small and tight for a zero bag so having this pack size was good for me in my gear even though the shoulder room width was abit tight. If you are a heavy set or bigger waist Man Id leave this one at home because it tappers fast from the shoulder. Over all this was a very good bag. Im a firm believer that is extreme cold weather you should have a sleep-system you should/can sleep unclothed in so you body heats it up to the max to eliminate cold spots and this Bag pulled through and it worked well to keep me warm all night with my ENO under-quilt. I wont think twice about taking this out in weather above 0 degrees Id trust this one again. follow some of my pack-ins at nategoodfellow55 on Instagram

Great quality and weight savings for the price
I am 5'9" and 155 lbs. I ordered the scout because it is lighter than the adult (the adult size bag was way bigger than I needed). The scout fits me JUST right. I would have liked a touch more room going down the hips/knees so i can spread out a little more but it's a mummy bag not a rectangular bag. The height is perfect (I wouldn't recommend someone too much taller than me grabbing this bag). The teton leef series bags have got to be the best bang for buck deal on the low end of the backpacking spectrum. I am a college student and sincerely appreciate the quality and light weight of these bags for the low cost.

Not for cold weather
Yesterday was my first chance to test it's alleged 0F rating. The temperature was 35F. I had my under-armer top and bottom, wore thick socks, and a hat. I was turning the whole night and could not sleep because I was constantly cold.Rating this sleeping bag at 0F is a plain lie and a dangerous one because it gets life-threatening cold in the mountains and this bag is no use against that.It really should be Amazon's responsibility to crack down on the abundant brazen and false advertising on products sold on its platform.

Don't use it when it's colder than 0C.
Just came back from 7 day hiking trip in norther British Columbia and experience wasn't the best. If it was a questionnaire, it's would look like this:Q: Is the sleeping bag comfortable?A: Yes, feels great inside.Q: Does it pack well?A: Yes, packs very well.Q: Did it keep you warm at temperates advertised?A: Not at all. Camped at -7C. I was wearing full merino base layer + other layer, still froze. It was not comfortable. Very cold in feet area.Q: But, did you die?A: No.Q: Will you buy it again?A: Yes, if I used it in summer time only.

I have taken this bag on several (-15C) camps since owning them. Obviously at that temperature, most persons cant expect to jump into the bag stark naked and hope to remain toasty warm. I would argue that regardless of sleeping bag it is quite normal to wake up once or twice before dawn, when it is coldest. This bag has let me sleep through (0C) evenings without once waking up, at lower than (-15C) a little bit of extra stuffing made for a very relaxing sleep. For the price, I believe I got bang for my buck.

Toasty!
Used it while wild camping with 3°C and I had to sleep naked because I started to sweat. I can't wait to try it with even colder weather! At the beginning I thought the price was too good to be true but it actually is a very good sleeping bag, recommended.

Never felt cold on Kilimanjaro
My wife and I used these sleeping bags on an 8 day Kilimanjaro trek where temperatures can drop below 5 degrees Celsius. Paired with our thermarest sleeping matts and the mountain hardwear tent provided by the trekking company we were never cold.We didn’t have to wear any clothing inside the sleeping bag and if anything there were occasions when we were too hot.My wife feels the cold much worse than me and she never complained about being cold.I’d recommend these sleeping bags.

Warm and light enough
The media could not be loaded. Great sleeping bag, I've had it out so far the coldest was in the video on Christmas, out in the woods in my teepee tent. That night it got down to -18 Celsius outside and in the teepee it was at it's coldest (early morning when the coals are almost burned out) around -4 or 5 C I have an old Canadian army mats, rated to -50 C as well as a regular sleep pad on that thats rated a 3 r value. So thats just on the ground and the teepee has a tarp you can put down for a floor. Then for me in the bag I only sleep with my thermals, wool comfy sleeping socks and a toque. And I was warm, also the material is nice to the touch. I had this in the late fall so I was only using my small 1 man tent with no stove (obviously) just the sleep pad and extra army pad but it was getting down below zero, maybe -5 C I think was as low as I went without a stove. So I guess that would have been the coldest I've had it. I was warm though again in that situation too. It is a bit heavy but then again it is warm enough. Also rated pretty accurately too, I think the comfort rating is -7 and I would have to agree. So for the budget beginner backpacker I would recommend.
