The wireless motion detector can detect any moving heat source. Can be combined with SPYPOINT SDB-85 audio repeller and works with HD-10 and HD-12 cameras. Additional detector for SPYPOINT WRL. Water resistant and shock resistant.

Motion Detector and Reciever
Good Points:I used Fully Charged Rechargeable batteries in cool and warm weather with no issues. Until it gets to about 80 degrees. It will detect anything moving including towels when its windy.Reception distance is really good. I use this for watching my camp site and vehicles.Bad Points:No info about attaching external 12 volt power with alkaline. Alkaline are non rechargeable and will explode or cause fire.Receiver belt clip has already came off. Internal screw unscrewed itself. No way to re-attach or open the receiver.Antennas are hollow and easily become dented. No way to detach antennas for placing in backpacks and no carrying case to protect. The antennas are easily broken.Tree strap that came with my purchase is defective. It look frayed, chaffed and worn. Manufacture Defect!I'd give this review a 3 but a 4 star because I have a way to keep an eye on things when away. And you have to keepin mind this stuff is fragile so take care of it.

These work pretty well overall
These work pretty well overall, detection-wise and also for radio range. Many a predating beast (i.e. feral hog) has perished at my small ranch due to these alerting me at night when I would normally be sleeping. They do seem to give better detection if you can run them off of an external 12V SLA battery rather than 9V alkalines (expensive), although they do run surprisingly long (and fairly well) off of those same 9V cells when needed. Consider feeding your gamecam/detector combo off of a split connection to reduce your efforts w/ battery maintenance. The 12V SLAs work for a really long time. Amazon can help :) WARNING: Don't expect to get too many cycles of connecting/disconnecting a regular 9V battery from these, as the amazingly-incredibly-super-cheap battery connector that the manufacture has chosen will fail shortly. Count on it - I have many of these, and it is THE single major annoyance. Come on manufacturer, spend an extra 75 cents on a hard-back battery connector! Buyers - expect to have to solder on a replacement/sturdier connector within 5 or 6 uses if you are going to be using regular 9V batteries. In full disclosure, the jury is still out on using the external 12V connector w.r.t. water penetration, but there have been no failures yet, despite some really wet weather. Regardless of any noted shorcomings, these are still enormously valuable for my ranch, and one of the very few options availble.Overall - recommended.

Works surprisingly well!
Works surprisingly well. Good range. My batteries are lasting longer than anticipated. For ease of ownership, I added a large battery pack with solar panel to charge it. No problems so far. The only problem had was mounting everything. Wish the made a stake mount that held the sensor, battery pack & solar panel in one unit.

Leery at first, but it turned out to be a good buy
I've used this product on my hunting property in West Texas. When I bought it, I was a bit leery because I couldn't find a lot of info about it. However, after two nights of hunting with it, I can say it works as advertised. It is important to realize that it is a THERMAL motion detector. This technology works very well when there is a contrasting difference between the subject and environment. So if it's 90+ degrees out, detection range is significantly reduced, in my test max detection range was about 15 feet. One it cools off, the range goes back up and I was picking up pigs at 10-15 yards with temps in the upper 60s.Construction is good. The latch on the detector cracked, probably because the fit is so tight and the little O-ring on the detector doesn't fit perfectly, although it doesn't seem to cause any problem and did its job when it rained. When the sensor on the receiver detects motion, it sends a signal to the receiver, which then lights up its corresponding light (you can have up to four detectors per receiver) and the vibrator goes off ... guaranteed to wake you up if it's on your belt and you're snoozing.

I like most, that it works
I like most, that it works. That it is adjustable for sensitivity.I can set up on a hole in the sheep fence 100m away, and it wakes me up when a dog gets to the hole.I like least that an outdoor sensor like this is not waterproof in the rain.

... only 2 stars because when they work they are great, but they are not designed or built well
I am giving this product only 2 stars because when they work they are great, but they are not designed or built well. Mine didn't handle rain as it should being meant for outside use and died within 2 weeks of use. Have a friend that the same thing happened to. His second purchase is holding up ok so far.
