Expensive and Totally Unimpressive Performance
I'm giving it 1 star only because it does actually sprinkle water. This is a lousy product. It has no redeeming qualities. It does not provide even coverage on any of its settings, not even on the center "fan" mode and despite how much I turn the water up, I can only get about a 5' radius (10' diameter). I've had better performance from much less expensive sprinklers. I spent a little more money on this because I was hoping this might be the one. Alas, it is not. Wasted my money. Buy something different and save your money.

it's ok
Not my favorite Dramm sprinkler, due to the fact that many of the "shapes" are not effective unless you're sending a whole lot of water through it. My yard is small and our soil benefits from LOWER output in order to minimize runoff. I was hoping to use the rectangular shapes to water our side yard but they are more bow-tie shaped with very little water in the center, if that makes sense. The one I've found most useful so far is the half circle, but to be honest I haven't tried them all because you've got to go back to the hose bib if you haven't put a shutoff valve on the end of your hose and I am lazy about trekking back around the back of the house to play with sprinkler patterns. It's a heavy duty item though, and I have made it work in a limited capacity.I prefer this Dramm 15076 ColorStorm Spinning Sprinkler, Berry because the flow works well at all GPMs and infiltration is nice and slow, preventing runoff in clay soils or on slopes.

Awesome for targeted watering
Low price, great versatility, excellent concentrated water coverage, durable metal base. We have a small yard with new plantings, and the ability to change spray patterns is critical for us. We use the half circle to get our plantings next to the front of the house, then switch it to the pop-up spinner and pull the sprinkler more onto the front lawn to get the rest of the grass. Then switch it to the rectangle for the plot of grass on the side of the house, then the half square for one area of plants in the back, the narrow rectangle to reach my weeping cherry trees along the back, then back to the half square for the other plants on the left side. The concentrated settings allow you to really focus your water where it is needed - meaning you are not wasting water on your driveway or paving stones, and you fully saturate the needed area in half the normal time. 20 minutes and we are done, moving on to the next area. 1,000 times easier than buying a traditional spinner for the front, and a separate back/forth one for the other areas. The only down side, is that the range is not great. Our side lawn is maybe 10 x 20 and we need to have the water at full force and it just covers barely reaches both ends. For our small areas, it's fine, but for someone with a larger lawn looking to do it all at once, it's probably not the right product for you. It's great for small targeted areas.

Not as heavy as advertised
This product would be fine for those without dogs that like to run around with water! This was my 4th sprinkler purchase of the season; I had bought this product because it said it was sturdy. I put stakes in and it still didn’t keep my German Shepherd from being able to pull it out of the ground and run around with it and have a grand old time.

Good price for a good product
Works like a charm! I learned the hard way that some of these things blow the water toward the hose instead of away -- that doesn't even make sense to me. This one blows out so às you drag the hose around the yard you don't have to contort anything or wear a wet shirt. I wanted heavier duty, having just tossed what i thought was a sturdy sprinkler that I only had four months. Cheap isn't always cheap! This has brass connectors!

So good I bought one for my Mom.
I am really impressed with this. I haven't had a "garden frog sprinkler" for decades. I normally use a drip system. But I'm doing some yard work and needed something to irrigate a large area prior to digging and for some smaller areas until I can install irrigation. This is a great sprinkler. It is well built, the base being an enamel coated metal and the fittings being a durable plastic. I have used several different shapes for the water and it has worked exactly as it claims. I have the Dramm nozzle that also has the different spray settings and liked it so much that is why I chose this brand for a lawn sprinkler. I liked it so much, I bought one for my Mom who also has some irregular shaped planters. She has not complained so she must like it or I would hear about it.

large droplets, long throw, pattern not "tight" enough.
I've had so many of these I have lost count.I still have one that I love that has disintegrated in the base area that does the BEST job. No brand on it.With high hopes, I bought this one, thinking I could throw it out... not so fast!the problem with this new one is no real misting and the droplets are quite large. the pattern is just not precise enough.this one is the worst for the pattern I have ever seen... but, this one feels like the most durable build.so, I will keep it and use it. but not throwing out my million-year-old one.

Had high hopes for it, but it just does not measure up!
Saw one being used by a neighbor and thought that it would work for both our square-ish front yard and narrow side yard. Had to return it for the following reasons:1. Weak and poor coverage. Range is very limited.2. Uneven coverage. Spot close to sprinkler does not get same water as the far end.3. You have to turn off taps to change spray pattern setting.4. Not all spray settings work. Either sprays too narrow or too wide. It's built really well, but the concept of those spray patterns seems like a gimmick to me as I can't get any of them to properly work and there obviously is a difference between the amount of water being sprinkled close to those far away.

Sprinkler not useful - Waste of money
This sprinkler was not useful at all. Honestly I'm surprised at all the positive reviews.1. The sprinkler settings do not cover the amount of area as promised. For example, the rectangular pattern is no where near the specified area of 7'x42' (it was hardly 1'x10'); even though I have high pressure hose.2. The area that the sprinkler covers has gaps in-between. For example with circular or square pattern, some areas had gaps which fails in its primary purpose of watering uniformly. My return window just closed and now I'm stuck with the sprinkler. My advice would be to stay away from Dramm sprinklers.

Better than the vast majority of spot sprinklers out there, however...
This is a nice gadget to use to water tight areas. (For example, on the rectanguIar area mode, it reaches about a 5x7 m perimeter.) has a surprising variety of pattern/area configurations to it. It is heavy - the main body and the spinner in the centre are made out of metal. Unfortunately, the rotating disk in-between (which you turn in order to choose a pattern) is still made of plastic(as in, still the same as the other 95% of sprinklers out there). Time will tell if the plastic becomes brittle over time and exposure to the elements.

There is no alternative for lateral wide sprinking than this one
There is no alternative for lateral wide sprinking than this one ....too often, the only sprinklers are rotating in circles, or in a square movement, leaving the edges of grass to dry out, in hot weather, resulting in wasted time, money for fertilizer, seed, removing dirt, digging and moreas a result of that. This avoids the grass whittling down from lack of watering ... does a perfect job. So good, acquired a second one for friend.Update: a year later, got another of this model, other color, for buddy and new grass seeding. Fantastic.

Easy to attach, works as expected - Love the Half Circle function
Easy to attach, works as expected - Love the Half Circle functionPLUS: When my neighbour saw my sprinkler, she realized that she had a similar one in storage, had never learned how to use it. I was happy to demonstrate how it worked, and how easy it was to set up and adjust, so now she can water her grass without watering her cement patio!
