Kichler Cylinders 15" 2-Light Outdoor Cylinder Wall Sconce in Architectural Bronze, (15" H x 5.75 W), 9246AZ

We bought a dozen of these for a MCM renovation. They look beautiful but there are issues you should be aware of:1) If being used outdoors, there is an additional $20 lens you need to buy to prevent moisture from coming in on top2) When you buy the $20 lens mentioned above, it may bother you that the top and bottom are not symmetrical and then you will want/need to buy the diffuser for the bottom. Now this affordable light has gone up in price by over 50%.3) The construction of the actual bulb holders are questionable. I have not been able to cleanly screw in quite a few bulbs and they then become cross-threaded and break trying to get them out. I did see this mentioned in another review and this is not a problem I would expect with these.Overall, great look, but for the price I would expect slightly better construction. I just hope they last as we just installed a dozen and I really don't want to have that expense again.

It's just the right amount of light to have at my front porch door. I had the electrician hook it up to an electric eye so that it cocmes on at dusk and turns off when the sun comes out. It matches the larger one that I have outside my garage- also on an electric eye.These dark sky lights are wonderful. They give us humans just enough light, while preserving the darkness for the woodland creatures that live near my home, so those that need to sleep in the night can and so those that must hunt under darkness in order to feed their young can do that.

I feel like majority of people will be using this for outdoor light solution, without the buying an additional >$20 lens the lamp cannot be used in outdoor situations where it will be exposed to rain. I dug into Amazon description for this product and did discover a small footnote buried in a bunch of words that says you need top lens for outdoor rating,Since majority of people will be buying for outdoor use, I think it should be very clear that you need a top lens for this light. This should possibly be a buying option triggered at ordering step. A $99 light suddenly becomes a $125 lamp.In addition, an essential part for the lamp, a mounting bar(uniqued to lamp), was left out of the shipment, along with some screws. I have sent email to seller for a solution to missing hardware, and will wait for response and update my review based upon their responseThe lamp looks nice and sturdy, reasonably good quality.

For some reasons unknown to me, it's almost impossible to find contemporary styled outdoor lamp fixture.99% of the outdoor fixtures are the stagecoach wagon style lamps >> reflection of poor public taste??Anyway, this fixture's white matte powder coated finish looks great, and the fact that it accepts standard bulb type is great.I use LED buld on mine.Sized perfectly as well, IMO, especially the base mount to wall.

So far, I love these sconces. We are using them indoors. They take two bulbs, so one washes up and one washes down. They provide a lot of light! We are using dimmable LED bulbs and so far, it's been fantastic. If you have a modern / contemporary / or even rustic, woodsy home, these fit into the look perfectly.The challenge with our house is that it tends to be dark...even after we painted all the cedar ceiling and walls white. This light does a wonderful job of washing light both upward and downward, but also just providing ample general light. The beam is not too narrow/focused....it spreads outward enough to look natural. We are very pleased with our purchase.

I ordered this for an exterior wall facing the Pacific Ocean, so this light is going to be put to the test. It seems sturdy enough - out of the box presentation was good and the build quality seems good. The mount is indeed 4.5" and measures exactly spot on. There are no lenses to protect the sockets (two sockets, one facing up, one facing down) so I do wonder if that will lead to premature failure as moisture and elemnts get in. On the positive side, no glass lenses to clean or break!A really good looking light. It looks just like it does in the picture and is a nice down (and up) light for a contemporary home or office.Hope this helps.

We used 2 of these on a screened porch to provide glare-free indirect lighting. They look quite nice and are reasonably hefty which leads me to believe they are well constructed.Each fixture has 2 lightbulbs: One shines down and the other one up. The drawback is the way the light spreads away from the fixture. There are 4 separate bulbs between our 2 "identical" fixtures and every one has a different light pattern. Admittedly I am type A so this may not matter to you. I was unable to see a way to make an adjustment.

Feels like commercial quality. Love the color finish.Throws indirect light up and down and not in the eyes

I installed this light myself and was very impressed with the quality of the product, finish and unique mounting plate that is substantially more secure than the typical flimsy arm supplied with most wall mount lights. It casts a nice light downwards only like a wall washing pot light. Eliminates any hot spots when viewed from the front, but not a good choice if you want to cast a light out for illuminating a larger area.However in trying to re-order another 4 of them for another location on my house, I was NOT impressed with the wildly fluctuating prices at Amazon and others as well as the unreliable supply of such a simple light. This light has about 4 parts and could not be easier to manufacture but has prices ranging from $46 to $80 depending on when and where you shop.

Item as advertised. Dark-sky effective. Handsome, clean lines. Easy to install. A little bit pricey.
