decent large landline phone for my dad
Purchased this phone for my elderly father who lives in assisted living period. He has hearing, speech, grip, and mobility issues that affect his ability to use a telephone without assistance. The phone has a speaker phone for a hands free option and this is particularly helpful for conference calls. There are 3 memory buttons you can set up to program 3 different numbers for one button push dial. This makes it really easy for my dad to call us if he needs anything in case he forgets our number. When we received the phone we followed the instructions and registered it. When we went to set up the phone we made a mistake without knowing it and plugged the handset into the outjack on the back of the phone. For some reason we completely missed the handset Jack on the side of the phone. Needless to say we didn't get the phone to work and we were very frustrated. The next day I had resigned myself to purchase a different phone when customer service from HePesTer phone reached out to me via text to ask me how it went with. The installation of the phone. I told them that we couldn't get the phone to work and I thought it was defective. They responded with some troubleshooting things to try to see if we could get the phone to work. I was certain I had done everything right? The first time and was reluctant to try but I did anyway. Needless to say when I Followed the customer service reps (THANK YOU, Peggy!) suggestions that's when I discovered the jack for the handset on the side of the phone. I was embarrassed about being such a dimwit. But I was extremely happy that the phone was now working and I didn't have to get a new one after all. My dad absolutely loves the phone it's easy for him to use. I would recommend this phone for anyone.

Great for handicap use
Phone was purchased for an 88-year-old handicapped woman who has vision impairment for which the large buttons and easy contrast of numbers against background make it easy to use. Also, there aren't a lot of extra features to get in the way of simply picking up the phone and dialing a number and talking. Her old phone had dozens of functions that were activated by pressing one of the keys and it made it almost impossible for her to use the phone because other functions were called into play preventing her from using the phone. It's simple to use, straight forward, has a loud ring. Really likes it.

Buttons are a breeze!
I purchased this phone for my 94 year daughter led Mom. She is hard of hearing. The receiver is not as loud as she needs but the ring volume is superb. If the design of the hand held receiver were more like an old fashioned phone hand held, I believe that it would fit better around her ear and more easily block out ambient sound so that she could hear the caller.

911 Button can cause problems
I purchased this phone for my octogenarian parents for its ease of use and it is easy for them to use but the 911 button accidently got pressed and the local police department showed up to make certain everything was ok. I think the product could be improved if the phone made an alarm sound or the red light blinked if an older person accidently presses the 911 button. Of course if there had been an actual emergency where 911 services were required it could be a life saver, so one of those things I guess one could say. I've hopefully got my parents to NOT accidently press the 911 button again, or I'll have to get them a similar phone without that feature.

Product returned for multiple issues.
Phone was packaged nicely, but discovered multiple issues when setting up to use. 1) Handset receiver missing hook and would fall off base mount when base mounted vertically on wall. 2) Base hang-up button did not work or recognize when handset was set down on base. Phone continued to keep line open. Speaker mode was off during this time. 3) Phone kept sending pulse sounds which could be heard on handset receiver even though no buttons were being pressed. Phone switch flipped to dial tone mode, but pulse sounds continued without user input. 4) Unable to make or receive calls from phone. Returned for refund.

Cheaply made phone
There is a lot of static when you're on a call. I have been trying to troubleshoot this since I purchased the phone by buying a new receiver cord and new cord to plug into the wall. It seems fixed one day and horrible the next. This phone is for my mother who lives in a nursing home. Her friends have called me and told me they can't talk on the phone with my mom because the static is so loud they can't hear her. I have experienced the same. I want to return this phone and it says I am past the return date. Can you help me please.
