I have a display on my graphics card, if I plug the display port into the pc and the hdmi into the back of my monitor, will it display on my monitor?

If I understand the question correctly, and you have a DisplayPort socket on your PC graphics card, and HDMI on your monitor, then it should likely display on your monitor, though your mouse might seem a little bit sluggish occasionally, due to the 30hz display rate. Note though that it won’t work the other way round (HDMI to DP).

Can I change it to 60hz as my graphics card supports 60

Yes. I have these and my monitors are 75hz and work perfectly

My screen keeps going blank every few mins... all hw items are new and ive been told it could be the cables? Please assist. Thanks

Possibly yes , check cable connectors , give a PUSH and see if work. 2nd you can try alternative cable

My hdmi port is 1.4, will it still work?

The cable itself should work fine but only to the rated specification of the hdmi port.
