Motorcycle Journeys Through North America: A guide for choosing and planning unforgettable motorcycle journeys

The main reason the book doesn't get five stars has to do with editing. If you mention a specific place and/or have a picture with a caption the mentions a specific place, it ought to be labeled on the accompanying map. That said, this is still and excellent guidebook for mapping out motorcycle touring rides. The tips regarding ride prep at the back of the book are very good. The rides mapped and described are, where I have experience, are realistic and point out the occasional "must" or "recommended" thing to see or do. The book itself is reasonably sized such that it could be taken on a road trip as a constant reference. This book can be used to essentially map out a trip for you or you can use it to modify a trip you've mapped out for yourself, which is what I am doing.

I live in Indiana. I was looking for routes in Indiana that would be enjoyable. Not only Indiana but Illinois Ohio Kentucky Tennessee are not included. No routes on any of those are in this book. Very disappointed.

I've been reading thru this books for a while now.It definitely has the best roads for biking across America.Tons of info and highly recommended if your wanting to hit the roads for days on end.Great aid to trip planning/Can't say enough for this book.I'll be looking at the authors other writings in the future.

This book is well written, informative of historical events in the areas discussed and documented with great pics. While it doesn't cover all possible routes, most of the great routes are covered and some of the less known, which are really the cool trips as there are fewer people on those roads.Reading the book makes me want to get my bike ready for any one of the suggested trips.

Handy reference book for US motorcyclists.

I wish that it was done in a one book for the east coast one for the west, south and north. So you got more rides in the area ware you spend most of your time on one you plan on visiting. aside from that it is a good book with what look like some very nice trips.

Have to take one of these trips

This book was purchased as a gift for my Dad that loves his motorcycle. The minute I gave it to him he sat down and was picking out of his new adventures.

A great collection of tour suggestions, well presented.If you have any other ones of those guides, there is a fair bit of repetition from the other ones.But if you had only one to buy, it would be this one.
