Task...skid logs to a roll off container.The path (about 100') is a rocky one, where our Skid Steer loader is subject to cut tires from sharp rocks. Since the path is only 7' wide, this portable winch was the ideal solution. Pictured are 22"+logs, the skid cone was not large enough for this application. The PCW5000 had power to spare to skid over the forest floor. It's Honda engine started on the first pull every time. The components included in the forestry kit are top notch, it included everything needed to get the job done.

This thing is just awesome! We moved to a cabin in the middle of the woods with tons and tons of fallen trees. I grew up hauling giant rounds my dad would cut, and this is just so much better, cutting trees into 6-8' lengths and hauling them up the hill to our backyard for chopping. Worth every penny!

Solved the problem of how to get all that wood up off my steep land.

Portable Winch is fantastic -- BEWARE the width limit the cone gives you for logs -- any logs WIDER than cone than it won't work very well at all....I would suggest making the cone open ended on top or bottom, so that if you are working with wider logs, you can cut logs shorter to meet weight limit, meanwhile logs can rest on/in cone, while extra width sticks out top -- that way the log can be drug through brush/woods, no matter the width. Otherwise, cone does no good, and log will catch on muddy forest floor, ect....Great kit & equipment with right size logs. Love it

Tremendous piece of equipment. Extremely well made. Bought ours direct from BC based supplier. Just the ticket for moving logs in the woods in tight spots. You may want to get extra snatch blocks if moving heavy +1500# items, correct rigging makes all the difference.
