Fromel Complete Mod Kit for Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

WOW - after installing this bits, my Hot RoaD Deluxe was turned into a boutique amp. So clean! Balanced and powerful at any level - This amp will stay with me forever!

In February 2012 I installed a Fromel complete modification kit into a second generation (2003/2004) Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Along with the Fromel modification I also replaced three (3) additional capacitors with (716P) orange drop capacitors all of the same value. Those capacitors were located at: C2 (.047), C10 (.047) and C18 (.022). The Fromel modification is a vast improvement over the original HRD sound. It really opens up the sound and makes it very shimmering and with great note clarity. I never use the overdrive(s) so I have no comment on its improvement, I have pedals for that. In my opinion I think the directions and pictures could be a little clearer.My HRD came with Neutrik input jacks and I probably would not have changed them if I was to do this project again. The switchcraft jacks that came with the kit are smaller and fit loosely within the existing holes drilled in the chassis. Also, I did not perform the reverb modification that asked me to remove resistor R103. I liked the reverb as is.Please be aware that the Fender C/B "traces" and "pads" are pure junk (very thin) and can VERY easily be damaged. When I finished my mod the amp worked great for several days and then I had an issue with a broken / weak solder joint. Hey and I was so careful soldering too...so please be warned.
