TobinBalloon Ride Stamped for Cross Stitch Baby Quilt Kit, 34"x43", Multicolor, 34" x 43"

I just finished this quilt and absolutely love it. It is a real beauty hence the 5 stars. As mentioned by others I ran out of the outline color but it was not a problem to find because the kit uses DMC thread. The thread came sorted which was a real time saver. (I just spent the better part of a day sorting the thread for another quilt I am planning to make). The main problem with this quilt was that there were folds in the quilt when the pattern was stamped which meant there were gaps in the print when the quilt was laid out flat. I had to pencil in crosses and in some places it left the pattern a little distorted. (No one but me notices it.) Because of that, had I rated this when I first started it, I probably would have given it 3 stars. But it is by far the prettiest quilt of the 4 I have made. The color shading in it makes it look like a work of art. It is well worth the 6 months I spent making it.

I embroidery all the time and have done many of baby quilts just to keep busy. This is the first time buying this brand and it will be the last. The stamped image is poor and it isn't completely stamped in places, leaving gaps from one stamped X to the next.I was really looking forward to doing this one, but am tempted to just forget about it. The thread pulls through the material after tieing it off so you are constantly going back and re-stitching places that it has came out of.

I enjoyed working on this quilt except for a problem I have never encountered before and I have done many kit quilts. I ran out of the brown thread for outlining that came with the kit. I thought it would be no problem because the kit provided the DMC number for the thread. I bought the DMC number and the color was several shades off the kit brown color thread.

We lost the baby so I returned this item. It is beautiful and I was looking forward to making it.

I received this with the bag cut open. Everything looked ok until I discovered the needle was gone. Enclosed is a photo I took that says the kit included a needle. 🙁I can’t return it because I sorted out all the floss and got the kit setup to start working on it.

It will be awhile before I stitch this quilt as I have others ahead of it.

I have purchased Tobin kits previously and had no problems. Unfortunately this time the pattern stamping was not very good, causing uneven stitches.

Just finished after working on this forever (1 1/2 yrs). It is beautiful, but be aware it is a lot of stitching. I did run out of the outline brown floss, but easily found more at local craft store. I am telling my daughter to never wash this as it is too pretty to use! 😍
