Ceilume 12 pc Stratford Ultra-Thin Feather-Light 2x4 Lay in Ceiling Tiles - for Use in 1" T-Bar Ceiling Grid - Drop Ceiling Tiles (12 Tiles, White)

I was looking to replace the drop ceiling tiles in the basement family room of the 35 year old house I bough, because the old fiberboard tiles were dirty and sagging and had water stains in one spot where there must have been a leak upstairs.When I started shopping for replacement tiles, these Stratford tiles were at the top of the list because (a) they were inexpensive and (b) the decorative treatment was concave, and so would make a nice edge.I was VERY concerned about the light weight. I read some of the reviews, and some folks were expressing dis-satisfaction: sound transmission, a breeze from the front door literally raising the tiles and one person said you could even see through them.Because of these concerns, I decided to buy ONE BOX of these tiles, and put them in my home office - a small 12x12 room adjacent to the family room that shared the same floor and ceiling treatment.I got them last night. It took only 1 hour for me to take down the old dusty fiberboard tiles (cough, cough), TRACE them onto the backs of the new Ceilume tiles, and cut them with scissors. Boom. Done.It looks absolutely fantastic. A super clean, decorative, brand-new look for $100 and 1 hours work? Unbeatable. No issues with light-ness (I was concerned they would sag), and no issues with sound quality. After 10 minutes admiring the new look, I got back online and bought 8 more boxes for the remainder of the basement.I don't normally write product reviews, but in this case - because the concerns I was worried about simply did not materialize.. I felt compelled to share.

These tiles are a great option for suspended ceilings. Nice design and provides an elegant, sleek finish to the ceiling. Super lightweight, but was still able to easily install puck lights into them. I replaced these into a 40-yr old grid system that used 2x4 panels. This worked fine, just had to repaint the old grid to match bright white of the new tiles. Bonus: The shape of the 2x4 tiles are designed to have a center "grid" impression which blends well with actual grid making it very hard to determine if the tiles were 2x2 or 2x4. Highly recommend these, especially in a basement like mine as the material will not hold moisture in a humid area, unlike the previous generation of ceiling tiles which were porous. Musty basement smell is gone! Great product.

Cons: expensive for the material - these are described as feather light, and they are. As you can see in one photo they are basically thin, bendable plastic.2. Only 12 in a box and can’t purchase individual tiles, I needed 26 tiles so I had to buy an entire box of 12 for those extra 2 I needed.Pros: the finished product looks great. It gives the room an incredible facelift for half the price of other tiles I researched.2. Easy to cut. Literally cut with scissors.3. Relatively easy to install. I took the advice of others and put these under the existing tiles. That really seems to be the best installation option. I had one broken tile that I took down so it only has the new tile and it blew around with my window open and a breeze blew in. I suggest having something to weigh and anchor it down.I would recommend these products. It seems expensive when you open the box and see how flimsy these are but once they are installed I can’t help but be impressed with how they look.

These are so thin and cheaply made, it's hard to imagine selling something like this as a product (instead of packaging) let alone for $15 a panel. Imagine lemonade stand ribbed disposable translucent cups you can buy for less than a penny a piece. That's this product, but larger, more unwieldy, and only slightly less see through. These are easy to bend, easy to tear, would need to be weighed down to not gap if they were cut to fit partial spaces. These will fail at a high rate. We literally opened the box, tried to install one, put it back in the box and are now in the process of trying to return them. Don't waste your time or your money on this product.

100 percent happy with the ceiling tiles. I actually ordered twice, once for my bathroom and once for a spare room. Was a little hesitant after reading a few reviews. They came in perfect condition and they were easy to install. Changed the entire look of both rooms. Had to cut a bunch because of the size of the rooms but it was easy. I highly recommend.

These are perfect for our space. We had to keep the existing tiles or else they would lift and move around.They cut very easily with basics kitchen shears. I’m very happy

I ordered 2 boxes of tiles to replace the ceiling in my living room. As described, they are ultra thin and easy to install. Make sure your work space is clean because they do pick up every piece of hair and dirt. When you open the box, check every single tile. In one box, every corner was cracked like the picture. Thankfully, I was able to use those tiles for edges and corners so I could cut around the crack. If not for that, I would have had to deal with the hassle of returning them and it would have delayed my project. If the tiles had not arrived broken, I would have given them a higher rating.

This product arrived in perfect condition with no damaged corners. Very light weight and very attractive. Compared to other types of ceilings all were more expensive. Waterproof, won’t stain like other materials. Recommend
