Who cares about packaging? These are GREAT.
Many reviews squawked about "plain packaging". Who cares what the bag looks like, unless you're gifting. If you are, pour them into another container like a madin jar or something.Anyway, buying chocolate covered espresso beans online is a guessing game because you never know what they'll be like by photos. These are my second purchase of chocolate covered espresso beans; the first delivery was not what I wanted: they were "gourmet" but had a weird candy glaze, the beans were tiny and the chocolate too sweet. These though ... YAHOOO! Score. No disappointment here. The espresso beans are large and strong ... the chocolate is dark tasting and thick, but not overpowering at all. It's a beautiful balance and let me tell you what: these really do taste gourmet. So if you're having a party and you have coffee hour or cocktails, these are perfect in pretty little bowls with a tiny spoon for serving. I put them in shallow martini glasses around the desert table.Buy these ... I'm very snotty about things like this. You'll thank me later.

These Dark Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans are tasty and a great value, but not quite perfect. (A little too much chocolate)
What can I say? I'm a sucker for Chocolate Covered Espresso/Coffee Beans. And for the price, this one-pound bag is quite nifty and a very decent value. (The only stores in my area to have chocolate covered beans like this would end up costing me about twice this amount.)The product itself is quite tasty, and the beans are of a very decent quality. However, I do have to bring up one issue which held these back from getting a perfect 5- the chocolate-to-bean ratio is a bit off for my tastes. It depends on the particular bean, but each "nugget" seems to contain a ratio of anywhere from 50-80% chocolate, which is a bit too much for me. Part of the appeal of chocolate covered espresso beans for me is the satisfying crunch and equal mix of the almost bitter beans with the sweet chocolate, but with these, you taste the chocolate much more, with the coffee being almost an after-taste.It's not a deal-breaker, because that coffee flavor is still there, but I wish there was less chocolate and more bean. But still, for about $10 a bag, this is a great value, and they are still quite good.

They are nice full sized beans and have a thick even dark ...
Delicious dark chocolate flavor, fresh, crisp and refreshing with a burst of espresso bean flavor! Exactly what you want in a chocolate covered bean. As mentioned in other reviews the packaging is somewhat plain, strange as it sounds I am not in the habit of eating the packaging. The beans are very tasty and exactly what should be expected. They are nice full sized beans and have a thick even dark chocolate cover. Some of the name branded espresso beans use smaller beans and have irregular coating thickness.(but we are not reviewing them here) These get a 5 STAR review for quality, flavor, volume and value. I can recommend these as a good buy and will buy them again myself.

Yummy chocolate espresso beans/chunks
I was initially bummed when I received my chocolate-covered espresso beans in the mail because they were totally and completely melted (I live in Arizona and it's currently June...I guess I should've known better) but I was able to save them! First, I put the bag of melted chocolate in the freezer overnight. (Thank goodness the bag didn't break open in transit!) Then I transferred it to the refrigerator the next morning, for two hours. At that point, I was able to cut the plastic off of the chocolate without any of the plastic sticking to the chocolate. Then, with the help of my boyfriend, I cut the chocolate espresso block into small-ish pieces and put them into a Tupperware container. All good now! The chocolate is kind of sweet, but it's yummy and I'm very happy with my purchase.I should also mention that Sweet Spot Candies shipped very quickly, and they attempted to keep the espresso beans from melting by including two ice packs in the package. Unfortunately, the tracking didn't update, though (on the day they arrived, the tracking just said "shipped"). My boyfriend thinks they still would've arrived melted, but what a shame that they sat on my porch in 107 degree heat for two hours before I noticed them.

The price skyrocketed when I went to reorder the candy. It went from $9.43 to $17.98.
Excellent taste. Very few hard coffee bean chunks existed

Perfect mix of dark chocolate and bean
I often for 1 order of beans to test these out. For the first three days, I munched on beans throughout the day and kept my noticeable buzz for three days. The fourth day I brought them to a friends house for a study party. I had about 1/3 a pound left and laid them on the table. The four other guys plus myself finished the beans within minutes. I warned everyone be careful as not to get hear palpitations as the beans are pretty strong, lol. Everyone was asking where these came from so they could get their own.In my search for good covered beans, I've purchased them from a famous candy store in our historic downtown, I've also tried other varieties here on Amazon and these are the best there are. The only thing which would make them any better is if they used whole beans...but they would be much more expensive and possibly not as tasty. Although...I can't be for sure about them not being as tasty, I am guilty of munching on uncovered beans sometimes.

Best ones I've found
I love chocolate covered espresso beans and have tried several kinds. All have been at least good, but these turned out to be the best so far. Very creamy and chocolatey, and I got really wired from eating these too soon after drinking coffee. The candies are fairly uniform in shape and size, and were not broken. To anyone who is new to chocolate covered coffee beans, I offer this advice: Do not chew them for too long. Chew just long enough to completely grind up the bean and then swallow, or prepare yourself for the most bitter, gritty experience you may ever have. (I've been offering these to my coworkers all day and laughing at their expressions when they overchew.)
