Ankuoo NEO Wi-Fi Smart Switch with Home Automation App for iPhone and Android Smartphones, Blue/White

Initial impressionsJust received the unit from Amazon. Not happy to learn it only works on 2.4ghz wireless. I like to use 5.0ghz as its faster in my home area.Changed my IPhone to use the 2.4 from my router. Installed the app without any issues and setup the Neo. Works right now - but the Neo only 10 feet from my router - real test will come when I move it to the spot I bought it for (my clothes washer).Have an old IPhone that I kept just in case I broke my newer phone. It only uses the 2.4 wireless. Setup the 3S IPhone with no issues. It works. Went back to my new IPhone 6 and changed back to 5.0ghz - planned to use the old phone - was very happy surprise to see that the app works! I had tried 5.0 earlier and it did not, but now that I have the second phone on 2.4 working, the new phone on 5.0 also works. Happy HappyThe phone app does not apparently keep tabs on the state of the device, so changing it off/on on one phone does not show up on the other. So I will want to always do an off on off on kind of thing to get the current phone back in sync with the device. This is why 4 stars right now.Took it down stairs and hooked up my clothes washer. It works - was standing right next to the Neo when I turned it on - will run another load later turning it on from upstairs in bedroom. I have low water pressure and like to run a load of clothes at night while sleeping. Nights I want a shower before bed I need to troop downstairs and turn on the washer after the shower. Hope to eliminate the trip.

I have owned this now for about 1 1/2 weeks. So far, works great. I am happy with it. I got the NEO power model. I have the app running on my Moto X (KitKat). The app fires quickly and I can turn the lights on/off quickly. Mind you, not as quick as a dedicated remote control, but fairly quick. I also can control the lights remotely (i.e. wherever I have internet). There is also a small button to turn it on/off manually.Two little nit picks:1. The MAC address of the unit is not listed on it anywhere. I couldn't get it to connect with my router without this (I have MAC authentication on). I had to turn MAC authentication off, get it connected and then download the app. With the NEO app, the MAC address was listed. Since this has a network interface, it should be listed on the device. Annoying slow down on setup.2. The schedule portion of the app is quite basic. No adjustment for daylight savings, no adjustment for dawn/dusk. Simply turn on at this time and off at that time.

iPhone app could stand for update and needs improvement. As of this review, the app has not been updated since Oct 2014. App is only available for iPhone, but can be installed on iPad as iPhone app. Once figured out and configured properly, does work. App scheduling is nice feature but there are some bugs in editing times. Would be nice if app would indicate that power is indeed flowing in the case of a light so one would remotely know if everything is working as intended. Product is nice looking, however this company needs to get on the ball with the supported app necessary to operate it.

So far I haven't been able to program it -- there is not clear instructions on how to setup the time properly. They say in the instructions booklet that the time is according to the cloud server, however they do not specify any timezone, so I've been guessing with no luck. Also, the app for iOS is very buggy, it even has typos for crying out loud!! Definitely feels amateur!

Does not appear to work on higher rate wifi. I do not like the fact that it can only be accessed from the android app. Other than those things it is doing everything else that I need it to.

I installed this as an advanced timer for my landscaping lights. It worked really well, as a remote control, advanced timer and energy consumption tracker.Wishes:1. Would be great to support dust to dawn in timer selection.2. The real time consumption data is over calculated. For my 300W landscaping lights, it shows ~503 W for real time, while in the 24 hour view it showed correctly as 300W. Might be a software issue on how to calculate the wattage (220v vs 110v?).Will buy more to control my other lights.

Love this! Can turn the lights on before I walk in the door on late nights. Easy to setup and use!!

This one works! Most of the others similar devices....have the same picture...and many different sellers, but don't work! I returned them.I use this one on the blower of my gas water heater to shut the heater off at night ( via a programable schedule) and when we travel, via my iPhone.UPDATE, it has failed after 4 months of use. Won't set days correctly. Won't accept a do this on all days setting. Won't reset to Wifi despite many tries.
