Flexcut Individual Palm Tools for Wood Carving

The gouge is razor sharp out of the package. The gouge is very comfortable. The palm style works very well and the handle contours are perfect. I did wrap a bit of padding on the upper part of the shaft just below the handle. There is the slightest flex in the shaft, it really seems to enhance performance. Great product, does exactly as advertised, but better than that, it functions exactly like I need for it to. I will likely purchase a smaller one as well. Its perfect for the smalls that I usually carve.

Love my Flexcut tools. Good ergos, very sharp and polished. They're a pleasure to use. When used right out of the box I usually strop every 15-20 minutes to maintain the sharpness and factory ground edge. Very recommendable.

Received early. Have several of these great quality very sharp and holds an edge. Good price. Will buy others when needed.

This is a great wood carving tool. I believe flex-cuts claim to fame is that it's made of spring steel so that it flexes and yet the cutting edge is hardened to hold a great sharpening. It must work well because I find I am able to control the cut around the tiniest curves and corners with great precision. The handle is ergonomic and I'm able to carve for hours without fatigue. I'm very happy with this V tool.

Like the tool. Handle was cracked when I received it, but glued it back. Now works well.

Looking for something easier than a crooked knife for carving out wooden spoon bowls so got this #9 sweep palm gouge - made life a lot easier! Usual quality from Flexcut which really are "last a lifetime" tools if looked after properly.

A very good tool for my needs. Perfect for small woodworking jobsm

The tool is quite sharp and works well. I ended up making a wooden scabbard for it. I haven't got around to finishing the scabbard which will be a small project by itself. Overall, I docked 1 star because the tool is smaller than I expected and does not cut as deep a groove as I want. This is not the tool's fault as such and more of a peril of online shopping.
