Possible SpoilersIn its second week of release, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy this awesome soundtrack has claimed the top position on the Billboard 200 chart Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy : it features classics from the 1970s songs such as Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling," "I'm Not in Love" by 10cc, Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love," and The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb."For at the heart of this movie is its music, as it plays an almost central thematic role in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" as the 1970s songs included in the film are part of the storyline in a pretty unique way. As one of the main narrative plot points in the movie, is that Quill has a compilation tape `Awesome Mix #1' that he received from his mother before she died, which she had put together for him. It has of songs that she loved, all songs from the 1970s, and this is the only thing Quill has left of his mother and his former home on Earth. He uses the music as a connection to his past and to the sadness he felt, but also joy - as we the viewer are engrossed in the opening sequences of the movie when Quill does impromptu dance sequence.For Quill, this is the soundtrack​ to his life. One of best Marvel films to date, with an excellent marriage between celluloid and music.

After watching the movie it occurred to me that I had only seen soundtracks of the non theme tyoe musci for this movie. I wanted the actual soundtrack so I set about looking for it. I found this great album that has both. So if you want to dance along to great tracks from 70's and 80's pop and soul music .. if you also want to enjoy the actual soundtrack with character themes and music from key moments of the movie .. this has it. A great soundtrack to our modern day answer to Star Wars. Enjoy ... :)

The first CD is 'Awesome Mix Vol. 1' which is a collection of all of the songs played in the film.I love just about all of them, it's a great celebration of the late 70s- early 80s music scene.The second disc contains a number of different bits of background music from the film plus a couple of amusing bits of dialogue. A lot of it is really good, but not quite of the same awesome musical beauty of some of Hanz Zimmer's best.Still I have to give the overall product 5* as it just makes me smile.

Arrived promptly, well packaged and thoroughly flippin' loved by my Husband. One of his Birthday pressies that has been pretty much consistantly played ever since. One happy geek ;) All the classics from a fab film, wifey just wants a Baby Groot now...hint hint

Have not opened this as bought as a present therefore I presume everything will be ok with it.

Xmas present for my 72 year old mum, and she loves it! The cd for the car! 👌🏽Also excellent buy, of double CD, rather than paying separately for vol 1, and vol2

Well what can I say....Purchased this vinyl after getting drunk one night. Apparently wanted to listen to “hooked on a feeling” and ordered it.It showed up few days later without and recollection of buying it. That being said , love it. Good collection of songs

Loved the movie and knew right away the soundtrack would be on my must-have list. But there is something about vinyl that surpasses any sterilzed-sounding CD so I was sooooo happy to see this Collectors Edition. It has been on constant replay in our household with everyone from our 8 year old to our 15 year old to 'the patentals' made to feel that much better when it's on.Yes, the hole was punched a bit crooked (the consistency of that makes me wonder if it's intentionsl) but my discs weren't warped and sound greatCan't wait to see what shows up on the next soundtrack - a little Tony Orlando and Dawn, Captain and Tenille and Neil Diamond perhaps?

Review of VINYL version...Anyone who has seen the movie knows how great the soundtrack is. The first disc is the "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" that was featured on Star-Lord's Walkman in the movie. It's full of classic popular songs that you'll find yourself humming for days after listening. The 2nd disc features the original score by composer Tyler Bates, which is fantastic! Similar in style to Hans Zimmer, with heavy strings, vibrant brass, and hard-hitting percussion, Bates captures the mood and emotion from the movie perfectly.As for the records, both of mine arrived warped. Not so bad that it merited returning, but still warped. This seems to be happening a lot with the cheaper new vinyl releases - I suppose the quality control just isn't what it used to be. That said, the packaging is pretty nice, with some beautiful artwork within the gatefold sleeve.All in all, this double disc set has something for everyone - definitely worth buying.

Con el resurgimiento del formato de vinilo, es sorprendente descubrir que puede sonar mejor que un CD. la profundidad y calidez del sonido es incomparable. Obviamente se requiere de una buena tornamesa y amplificador para disfrutar la calidad del disco.Soy un gran fan de esta película y el soundtrack es uno de los mejores. cada canción es un viaje al pasado.

La colonna sonora sappiamo tutti che è splendida, ma il vinile...la prima volta mi è arrivato che di 4 lati in totale solo uno mi suonava bene. Gli altri avevano un suono distorto, tonalità sbagliata, rallentati...insomma, una schifezza. Me lo sono fatto rispedire (ottimo servizio di amazon) e del secondo suonavano male entrambi i lati A dei due dischi. Ho chiesto di nuovo al servizio clienti e sta volta mi chiedevano di rendere il prodotto (la prima volta me l'hanno spedito direttamente senza che io spendessi un centesimo), fatto sta che l'etichetta di reso non mi è stata data...insomma, mi sono arreso. Per avere poi tutti sti casini con resi, corrieri e lati che non suonano bene, vi consiglio di prendervi direttamente il cd che sicuramente suonerà di gran lunga meglio del vinile...certo, non è lo stesso effetto, ma almeno il cd non delude mai a differenza dei "nuovi" vinili.

I was a little worried that I would get a warped record or two...worry averted! They both played great. I only have an orginal pressing of Pina Colada to compare the quality too. I have to say, Pina Colada on this record pops just as good my original. All of the songs on the first record played very nice. Definitely a keeper and I can see me putting this one on a few more times over the summer.

Such a great album. The songs are indeed AWESOME and the quality is through the roof. Very clean sound with very little noise. I imagine these were all sourced from the digital backups (not the analogue originals) so keep that in mind, but over all I'm very happy with it.The product is very well packaged and comes in a gatefold sleeve with very sturdy construction and materials. Proud to have this vinyl in my collection.

Record arrived with damaged corners inside of an undamaged shipping box, the soundtrack record is very warped but plays through on both sides, and the jacket immediately puffed up and swelled open as soon as it left the shrink wrap; to the point that on the shelf pressed between other records it's pushing them away on both sides to open itself up. :/

Amazon logro ofrecer un producto de excelente calidad a muy buen precio. Hubo que esperar un poco con el envío pero aun así lo vale. El disco es doble, uno contiene material clásico de los 70s y el otro es simplemente genial si te gustan los scores de películas. Un clásico contemporáneo para nuevas generaciones.

Film eccezionale che ho adorato, accompagnato da una colonna sonora memorabile firmata da Tyler Bates.Potente e dirompente nei momenti più dinamici, evocativa ed intensa nell'accompagnare i frangenti più drammatici, per me una delle migliori in assoluto sia nel panorama del Marvel universe che più in generale.Insieme ai soundtrack dell'awesome mix selezionati da James Gunn è praticamente un must.

La verdad este soundtrack esta muy bueno, la pelicula es bastante buena, no todas las peliculas de marvel se me hacen buenas por sus chistes malos pero esta es la ecepción por sus personajes que se adaptan bien a esos chistes que hacen los de Disney y bueno en el apartado musical este soundtrack es la mera onda, canciones muy buenas de los 70's mejoradas a la epoca actual y sencillamente ese nombre de "Awesome Mix Vol 1" le hace total justicia a este magnifico albúm, si tienen opurtunidad de comprarlo ya sea en Cd, dogital, vinil, o escucharlo en alguna otra plataforma haganlo, lo disfrutaran bastante, en cuanto al vinil pues llego muy bien, este es uno doble y pues me salio bien barato, por eso me anime, contiene el Awesome Mix y otro que incluye los temas que van transcurriendo en la pelicula, como lo son los temas de cuando hay una batalla, persecución y ese tipo de cosas.

A great collection of awesome songs, and a whole movie score to go with it. The vinyls themselves are very well pressed, no imperfections or scratches. The inner sleeves are plastic lined so they wont scratch the vinyls, and the artwork on the jacket is really well done. Overall a great buy for someone that likes a little bit of everything.

Ho acquistato la versione 2 dischi (LP) import tramite il canale ufficiale amazon Italia.L'album doppio LP è stato consegnato, nonostante i numerosi passaggi (Inghilterra/Germania/Italia) in perfetto stato e questo è importante perchè questa edizione si può definire quasi da "collezione".I dischi non hanno grammatura 180 ma sono comunque molto planari e l'incisione discreta.Il suono è tendenzialmente simile alla versione CD ma con un pizzico di definizione in più sui medio/bassi (molto dipende dalla catena audio utilizzata).Un ottimo acquisto ... sono contento della scelta fatta.Le musiche/colonna sonora può essere giudicata individualmente in base ai propri gusti, io trovo sia mediamente godibile.Oggetto consigliato.

Sin duda una película que le debe un 33% a su soundtrack. Existe la versión del cassette que sin duda ha de ser la mejor versión, pero los que preferimos vinyl esta está de lujo. El precio es exageradamente bajo para ser la versión Deluxe, pero la calidad de los vinilos no es la mejor, aun que no es mala. El disco 1 venía undulado, lo cual es malo, pero no pierde calidad de sonido.

Si te gustan las piñas coladas este es de los mejores soundtrack que puedes encontrar.Incluye tanto las canciones del Awesome Mix Vol. 1 como el Soundtrack original de la película.
