I thought these plastic mats were ok until I put a bowl of hot soup on it. It left a permanent circular indentation on the mat.

Research More
I really should have looked at the review photos more before purchasing. This is a very thin, clear, sheet, with rounded corners. It’s not going to stay in place like a silicone mat would have but I’m willing to give it a try. I just have a small feeling this is going to be to warp the second some thing warm is placed on it.
