Pulsar by Seiko Holdings Corporation. A spectacular breakthrough Pulsar was born in an age of optimism. In the 1970's, everything seemed achievable through the rapidly growing technological expertise at the world's fingertips. Space flight had been converted from dream to reality, computer science was developing at break neck speed and electronics seemed to deliver new advances every day. Pulsar symbolized the age. It was new and it was bold, it was surprising and it was different. Pulsar, the world's first electronic digital watch, created a sensation when it was unveiled in New York in 1972 and it changed the world's perception of time. A tradition of difference When the brand was taken into the Seiko Corporation in 1980, it brought further surprises to the world; the first calculator watch in 1980 and the first all-quartz watch line in 1981 were among its industry-leading achievements. And throughout the '80's and 90's Pulsar continued to bring to market new products that were born to be different. The Avant-garde collection in 1980's set a new style in women's watches and Spoon in 1990's were unique designs which further cemented Pulsar's image as an ingenious and surprising watchmaker. Towards a modernist future Today, Pulsar remains loyal to its heritage. It was born to be different and it will remain so. Each Pulsar watch has the hint of the futurism and modernity that have always been its hallmark. Pulsar is a brand for the individual who appreciates real value and seeks quality with individuality and flair. Analog-Digital Chronograph. Sharp Looking with All the Info you need
As close to perfect a waterproof watch as I've found so far (Who wants to remove a watch just to shower?) that shows: Date and day name and which is also EASILY readable boy day and in the dark (night/movies). This watch does all those things using reverse LCD (see pic. - the digits are light the background is dark) The digits light up blue. It looks good, dressy, and classy unlike cheap digital only displays. (Nearly all dress watches are analog. I'm curious to see if that changes since many kids don't seem to care about learning to read an analog clock anymore.) It's big and a touch heavy but it'll makes me feel that much more macho. I like that it doesn't have 16 dozen additional functions that make getting back to the day/date an exercise in frustration. (Who needs a timer or data-bank with the advent of smartphones?) Sometimes the hands get in the way of the display but that is to be expected with this kind of dual display. (If they'd cut bigger holes in the hands they could make it even more readable.) We all know that day-glow paint only glows for about 5 minutes after exposure to light. To make it fit on my (apparently) slender wrist I had to slide out two links but that was easy to do, a five minute job needing only a paperclip. (As with everything you can find the steps on YouTube.) Great watch!PROS:easily READABLE both day & nightbig display (I'm over 50, & use reading glasses for books yet can read this watch just fine in all kinds of light without glasses.)shows day number & namedressy appearancewaterproofno excessive functionsno need to fiddle with it once a month (as with many dress day # display watches.)minor/possible CONSBig. (about 5 cm / 2 inches )heavy (easily double my previous watch -because it's NOT mostly plastic)short illumination (but this saves battery life .. just press the button twice. )as with most watches of this type.. at certain times the hands partially obscure time or date (Only an issue in the dark when it just adds a few more seconds to how long it takes to figure out the correct time /or date via LED illumination)

I'm blue because the watch isn't.
When looking at the order page for this watch, and then using the zoom in feature, this watch appears to be a nice color of blue. In person, this does not appear to have a blue highlight around the face of the watch, the main reason I narrowed my selection to this one. This is a really big and heavy piece. I own some automatics in my top drawer, but this is the largest I've ever put on my wrist. The diameter is slightly over 1 3/4 inches, and it is a little over a 1/2 inch thick. On the positive side though, this is a really nice looking addition to your collection. The digital is very faint in the background, but can be brightened by holding button 'D'. Of course you'll have to figure out how the buttons are assigned. The watch manual walks you through the operation and settings by pressing and holding buttons 'A' - 'D', but there is NO diagram that shows you which buttons are which. If you've set digital watches before you'll be able to breeze through it.Mine is going back because one of the buttons is loose. Had they all been the same, I wouldn't have noticed, but one button is obviously defective.

Get this watch
This is an amazing watch for a fantastic price. It is big, but I'm not a small guy and that's what I wanted. The bezel is a blue/grey that really makes it stand out on your wrist. The face is well laid out and the digital face is very subdued. The light could stand to be brighter and stay on longer, but not a big deal. The many textures make it fun to look at.As big as I am, I still had to take a link out and may remove another. So if you have a large wrist - then you are in luck.Get this watch!!!!

Buttons stuck in less than 1 year
Nice looking watch, but controls are rather cumbersome (e.g. can't go backwards when setting the digital time, so you need to go around the clock). When it came to switching to Summer time, the top right button seemed to jam a bit, but I eventually got the time set. Fast forward 6 months, I am stuck on Summer time because the button does not budge at all anymore. Very disappointing for this brand.

This watch is well made and attractive (assuming you like black dials)
This watch is well made and attractive (assuming you like black dials), but it is very big and bulky You need to have a big frame to wear this watch. The bracelet seems to make a lot of rattling noises whenever you move your hand quickly. The digital readout can be hard to read as it is somewhat dim. Also, it runs on two batteries which are supposed to be replaced at the same time, which is inconvenient and costly.

and the directions recommend setting the analog time by stopping the second hand ...
As several people have commented, the watch is very large, but I wanted a large watch. The directions for setting the watch were intuitive and sensible. (Please, note that the analog time and the digital time are not synchronized. You have to synchronize the two, and the directions recommend setting the analog time by stopping the second hand at the top of the hour and pushing in the stem when the digital time matches to the second.) The band was very large---I had to remove three links---but you can remove the links yourself with a paper clip and a lot of patience. The pins holding in the removable links were frozen in place, and I needed a long time to get each one to budge. Once you get the pins dislodged, they are easy to put back in place and seem to remain in place. The manufacturer should consider including a tool to allow you to remove he pin yourself. In addition, the manufacturer should include some advice on adjusting the length of the band. (For example, you could remove all of the extra links from one side of the clasp, a strong temptation because of the difficulty in moving the pins for the first time, but removing the links from one side changes the way that the band fits and leaves the clasp in an awkward position. As much as possible, you should balance the removal of links from the band. I've seen some complaints about the level of lighting of the watch face, but I find that the light level is good.I like the way that the watch looks and feels, and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Soy de talla grande y va excelente en mi muñeca, no lo recomiendo mucho para personas de tallas pequeñas, ya que el reloj es muy grande, pero va perfecto y muy exacto.
