I think it is important to use good quality tools when trimming the 8 wires so as not to throw up any burrs on the end of the wires that could stop then going through the tiny holes in the plug. I also thing that having a good quality crimper not a cheap and nasty one is also a must when fitting these connectors. I do not understand the bad reviews for these plugs as I was using Cat 6 Solid Core 23AWG cable and they worked fantastically well.
