Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Graphics Calculator, Black 320 x 240 pixels (2.8" diagonal)

Ordered for my highschool student. It has helped tremendously, and was cheaper than the store.

This calculator allows the user to do lots of advanced math and graphing. I haven't run the batteries dry yet after a semester of heavy college math courses. The black color hides the dinginess it probably gets from being brought everywhere. This is the perfect calculator if you don't need one that has a color display.

Always a trusty calculator. Got it for my college chemistry classes and worked great. After a whole school year still works great! Of course it’s kinda pricey, but you pay for quality.

This calculator is hands-down the best I have ever had the honor of using. While the TI-84 Plus may not have as much space or as many pre-loaded Apps as the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, the TI-84 Plus offers everything a high school (possibly some college) math student needs in order to successfully learn and solve mathematics material. The TI-84 Plus comes loaded with several Apps that will make things even more convenient, such as a Probability Simulator and Cabri Jr., a great geometry app. Student looking to upgrade from the TI-83 Plus will find comfort in the fact that the TI-84 Plus is 2.5x faster and has 3x the memory than the TI-83 Plus. The TI-84 Plus is also extremely easy to hook up to your computer to transfer new Apps and updates to it using the USB port and the included USB cable. The TI-84 Plus will be a great investment for any student's education.I didn't want to purchase such a high cost calculator when there are much cheaper work arounds. However, for kids in school, college or taking college tests like SAT and ACT--this calculator is allowed to be used (as is the model below it. So, i bit the dust and purchased it.It works great. It is the standard used in schools so my daughter learned how to use and and can get help on it.The biggest thing is that most of the kids have these and many look alike so you need to mark it well to show it is yours and reduce the chance of theft. this of course isn't TI's fault--but it is good to know.The ti 84+ (this model) has mathprint (stacked fractions and symbols) and a USB cable. TI-83 doesn't have this. Also, i understand that this is faster than the 83. The silver edition os TI 84+ has spreadsheets and SAT/ACT test prep included. That may make it worth the increased price, but I didn't know that until I had already purchased this one.The Memory ROM/RAM between the models are:160K/24K on TI83480K/24K on TI84 Plus1.5 MB/24K on TI 84 + Silver addition (again making the silver addition probably the better value)

This graphic calculator is very practical in function, with clear and intuitive graphing. It can meet the basic needs of calculation and drawing. The interface is also relatively simple and easy to get started with. However, sometimes the loading is a bit slow. If it could be further optimized, the experience would be even better. Overall, it's quite good and worth recommending!

Came in at a respectable time for a used product. very satisfied with the price and it came with brand new AAA batteries which I was happy about. It's definitely got some wear and tear but that's not a problem for me. I need this for a math class, I'm not concerned if it looks pretty. If it works, it works.

These are a great calculator that are allowed on all standardaized tests. They will last from 6 grade to post college easily. This is the standard in my opinion that you cannot go wrong with. If your kids are anything like mine, you might want to add their name into both the cover and on the back of the calculator itself so it is not mistaken for someone else's as most kids will be required to have this at some point.
