Exceptional Performance with the IRWIN VISE-GRIP Wire Stripper!
The IRWIN VISE-GRIP Wire Stripper is an outstanding tool that makes handling electrical work a breeze. I recently added this to my toolkit, and it has quickly become an essential part of my gear. The build quality of the wire stripper is top-notch. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, with a comfortable grip that makes it easy to use for extended periods. The precision-ground stripping jaws are incredibly effective, allowing for clean and accurate stripping of various wire gauges without nicking or damaging the conductor. One of the features I appreciate most is the adjustable stopper, which ensures consistent stripping length and improves efficiency. The built-in wire cutter is sharp and precise, making it easy to trim wires neatly. The ergonomic design of the handles provides excellent leverage and reduces hand fatigue, which is especially useful during long projects. The tool also has a built-in spring-loaded mechanism that makes it easy to use with minimal effort.Overall, the IRWIN VISE-GRIP Wire Stripper offers exceptional performance, durability, and ease of use. It’s a reliable tool for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. Highly recommended for anyone needing a high-quality wire stripper that delivers consistent and precise results!

50 percent solution
This stripper does a good job only on certain types of electrical wires. It nicely and easily strips stranded wire both large and small gauge and sheathed cables like Romex. It absolutely does not strip individual solid wires, say 14 and 12 gauge, if they are covered in a thin plastic coating (which most are). Try it, and you’ll be scratching your head and feeling very frustrated.Imagine you strip some 12 gauge Romex and then want to attach the exposed individual wires to a new receptacle. You will have to use a second stripper to expose the ends of the black and white wires. The Irwin stripper simply will not work on the black and white tips because the teeth will continually slip as they try to penetrate that plastic coating. You typically end up with a mangled, unusable mess. So, your new tool will only get you 50 percent towards the finish line. You’ll need a second stripper no doubt. Your call on this tool. The tool itself seems well made and durable. It seems fairly priced as well. I’m keeping it, but be aware that it’s only going to do 50 percent of what you need it to do much of the time. One final thing: Keep your thumb away from the body of the tool as you squeeze! It’s very easy to pinch your thumb in the crimping section of the tool if you have sizable hands. I drew blood two of the first four times I used the tool. Who knows? Maybe I’m just a klutz.Re-review: 6-months later and I am happier with this tool. It seems to be stripping coated-with-plastic 14 and 12 gauge wire much better. It strips wire much better if you press down a little (with your left hand index finger) on the top of left side gripping head. Much better and more consistent performance. Upped my rating to four stars.

These work very well!
These feel like good quality and they do a great job. They have cleanly stripped the insulation off without cutting any strands of wire! Super easy!

Hard to go back to regular wire strippers
I've had the pleasure of using the Irwin wire strippers, and I must say, they are nothing short of fantastic. One of the most remarkable aspects of these strippers is the incredible speed at which they can effortlessly strip wires. It's almost like a breeze, especially when working with thicker gauge wires. I found that when dealing with robust wires like 12/2 Romex, the Irwin wire strippers excel, making the job quick and hassle-free. The precision and efficiency with which they handle these larger wires are truly impressive. While these wire strippers shine on thicker gauge wires, they can still manage smaller gauge wires, like 22 gauge or smaller, although it may require a bit more finesse. Although not their primary strength, it's commendable that they can handle the smaller wires as well. After using the Irwin wire strippers, it's hard to imagine going back to traditional wire strippers. Their speed and ease of use set a new standard, making wire-stripping tasks more convenient and efficient, and they've become an invaluable tool in my toolkit. Whether you're a professional electrician or a DIY enthusiast, these wire strippers are an excellent addition to your collection and will undoubtedly save you time and effort on your wiring projects.

Works great, even on super thin stuff
They simply work, I enjoy using them for stripping 22awg solid-core, but I've recently used them to strip even thinner stuff. The grip feels great to hold, and they fit in my robotics "go bag" really well. They struggle with stripping multiple small wires at once, but that's me just getting picky. I haven't used the crimping feature built into the grips. Otherwise, 10/10, I love these things!
