Seiko Women's SXGN42 Gold-Tone and Black Leather Strap Watch

This watch is perfect for a small wrist. I have the tiniest wrists and have always had some trouble with leather watch bands needing an extra hole. My wrist is 5" around and I'm using the 2nd smallest hole. Looks like the largest setting would fit a 7" wrist, max (not sure how comfortably though). The watch itself is simple and elegant, and the second hand makes it even more practical. Love this watch, and Seiko makes quality timepieces! I'm going to note that the product description says "pigskin leather" for the band, but the inside is actually stamped "calf" so it appears this is likely and error - not that it really matters.It seems most of the people that didn't like the watch felt it was too small. This is definitely not a large watch, but is perfect for a smaller wrist (or if you just want a fairly unobtrusive watch). It really is difficult to gauge the size from the picture, so I'd recommend paying close attention to the actual measurements that are listed in the product description and maybe comparing that to another watch you own. Also note that the band tapers, and is much narrower at the buckle than where it attaches to the case. That said, the men's version of this watch is larger, but otherwise identical and probably worth considering if you wanted something bigger.

Because I've always loved tank style watches, I was delighted to see this offered via Amazon. The fact that it's a Seiko added to its allure. I look forward to many years of trouble free use and enjoyment. The watch face is easy to read and, despite early misgivings, is not too large for my small wrist...it's about the same size as my Movado Museum watch. It was easy to set and seems to be keeping time accurately. Two small drawbacks: the instruction manual that came with the watch was more confusing than helpful. Seiko has tried to cover too many types of watches in one manual, but there's nothing to help you identify which part of the instructions apply to your watch. The second drawback is the thickness and stiffness of the leather band. Perhaps both are meant to help the band last longer? As a practical matter, it leaves you struggling to fasten the band and chafes a bit. Overall, I would purchase this watch again.

I purchased this item for a gift for my mom. My dad had bought a watch just like this years ago and it was lost. I was so excited and thought it would be perfect and I wanted to get it ASAP because I feared that they would run out of stock so I purchased it right away. Anyway, we gave it to her and she cannot see the roman numerals. They are very faint and one could not tell this in a close up picture online. It is portrayed better in the picture. I would not have had such a big disappointment with this item if I would have been able to return it. I guess if you buy gifts on amazon they do not let you return them after 30 days unless you want to lose a bunch of money on the deal and return the perfectly brand new item (which they will then sell again for another profit later). Needless to say I cannot buy another watch for my mom because amazon will not let me return this one for even full online credit for a better one on their site that she would actually be able to use. So now we are are stuck with a watch that she cannot see. DO NOT BUY GIFTS WITH AMAZON! TERRIBLE RETURN POLICY!

For doctors, nurses, and others, a second hand is an important feature that many makers of women's watches seemingly overlook.Size:Some other reviewers complain that the size it too small or is smaller than they expected based on the photos. (I don't know how they misunderstood the size listed in the chart.) On the contrary, this watch, at 18mm wide, is the perfect size for a women's Tank. It's a classic style from a time before the trend of women wearing watches that are wider than their wrists.Seiko might be called the Toyota of watches: not hand-made or exquisite, but well-made and affordable. Their quality is good and this watch is a fine value.

The watch was beautiful but much smaller than I anticipated....even with the measurements that were provided. I can see why this watch was almost 75% discounted. My wrists are not large but I was forced to use the last hole on the watch band....and even then it was snug.

This watch was purchased as a gift to someone. The first one I received was defective. The crown and pin fell out when I tried to adjust the time. Though I was able to push them back into place, I exchanged it for another (as always, great service from Amazon). The second time was the charm.The watch is fairly small, so it is only suitable for people with thin wrists. It has a classy styling and looks quite dressy. The roman lettering goes well with the white dial. It appears to be well built (so far) and keeps accurate time. The leather band may not last very long, but most leather bands don't. Overall, it's a very good value for the money.

I chose this one from 10. For me it was readable, the right size band and watch for my average size (5'6", 130, thin but normal wrists for my size), has a second hand, this is NOT solar, darn, (it was not a deal breaker but at least it does have a battery, has Roman Numerals, is attractive, and has a quality, comfortable to wear all-day, leather band. It fits me perfectly (the band-end does not stick out, and looks great. Easy to set and accurate. I recommend this watch, would buy again, and I hope this helps someone.

The product description does not mention the length of the watch band. The watch band is very short - made for someone with a tiny wrist. I wil need to replace the band which is too bad because the leather band is of very good quality. As for the watch itself, it is petite and attractive, and also appears to be of very good quality. Once I replace the band I will certainly enjoy wearing it.

This watch was bought after the owner had lost one just like it. She insisted on exactly the same watch to replace it because of it's classic look on her wrist, it's tough and durable resistance to water and shock. A great little watch! The product arrived promptly and was priced at a competitive value.

My husband bought me this watch to replace my old watch. I couldn't have chosen a lovelier one, it is smart, just the right size for a small wrist and of excellent quality and great value for money.The watch arrived well within the delivery date and was well packaged.I would certainly recommend this watch to both friends and family and I think it would make a delightful surprise present.

I gave this rating because I genuinely love it. Its smart, very comfortable - but I really purchased it because I liked its old-fashioned face. It's a very classy watch, but will go with all sorts of outfits - it was a good buy ....
