Beginner's Guide to Kumihimo

Although I like this book and have made one of the projects, in general it is not a beginners book. There is not enough detail about braiding with beads to launch into a project like the infinity knot lariat (very long!) necklace. I am an experienced Kumihimo braider/beader so didn’t have a problem, but a beginner certainly would in my opinion.

While I enjoyed this book and there is one thing I take exception to. I teach Cooney he email and I strongly disagree with the author about putting beads on top of the desk. I think this is a disaster waiting to happen. I teach my students to never put any beans on top of the desk. I have them keep them all below the desk so that when they pull up a string only the amount that they want to move will move. Other than that the book was very nice and gave some very pretty patterns.

Nice book with some interesting techniques. They say it for beginners. I really think its more for one step after beginners. I'll enjoy trying the beaded bracelets.

This is a teaching book that shows many different stitches to get your projects looking difficult to make, but a short time to complete.If you plan to sell your projects, many different stitches with various combinations will delight your customers and entice them to return for more!

Good diagrams. Easy to follow.

I love 3 of the projects. Margaret, Gaynor, Loraine projects are looking good. Now to choose which one to start on.

I bought this (new) book as a Christmas present for my sister. When I opened the jiffy bag containing the book, I was disappointed to find that the corner of the book was damaged. I presume that this was because the jiffy bag was not strong enough to protect the book. Fortunately my sister didn't mind, and has still enjoyed using the book.

There are 12 projects - 6 with beads and 6 without. Good sized photos and step by step instructions make this a great book for a beginner but also good to have as reference Anyway. Seller: No problems, timely arrival.

Lovely book. Lots of ideas & inspiration in it, even though I know how to Kumihimo, I still picked up new techniques, so I’m happy to recommend. Riverside beads are a nice supplier too.
