Go get dirty...
I bought this pack (in blue) for hiking, travel, and some business needs. At 4 foot eleven, it's difficult to find ANYTHING that fits or wears properly (including backpacks), but this one did the trick. I also am very hard on my equipment; I think I have about six packs... Some of which didn't hold up well. Being a veteran, I often worry about longevity and quality... This one, thus far, has been not only been well fitting for long hikes, but has held all of me needs. I may purchase a black one for use as a small bug out bag.The bladder/engine system is fantastic, but I did have to move the pump high on the strap because the hose was popping off and removing pressure. The quick fix has worked. I've started to take the pack with me to work, as I sit long periods, and often cannot get up to reload water bottles. Bought a door hook, hang it from the cubicle, and it's always in reach. I think, if I ever needed a shower, the pressurized system would be more than adequate. Not that I shower in my cubicle, but you hear me.I generally carry (at various times):Multi toolKnife (zombie killer folding knife)Spare cycling partsSurvival tabsJournalSpare socksBike lock (kryptonite bike chain, heavy)iPad miniMRE (broken down)HeadlampHarmonica (for those times I get bored)BirkenstocksBusiness contractsCharging blockExtra t shirtWater filterIt has more than enough room for all of this.Previously, I had used a chrome citizen messenger (which I swear by) for every day use. I didn't intend on switching over to a backpack, but this has been surprisingly efficient. While mountain biking through the Superstitions, it held up like a champ, and the water didn't slosh around. The pack didn't slide around on my back, as if had that issue with camelbacks and the like. I was apprehensive about spending this type of money on a pack is never used before, and some of the reviews were less than stellar. However, I haven't had any major issues with this, and I'd recommend it to any adventurer who enjoys getting dirty.

Bombproof and functional - best hydration pack I have owned
I wasn't sure what to expect with this pack, but it was the right size for me as a high school mountain biking coach. The aspect that I love the most about the pack isn't all of the great pockets, internal pouches, and smart design, it is the ability to pressurize the water bladder and not have to suck the water out, but just let it spray into your mouth. This was ground breaking for me not having ever used this type of water bladder before. No effort when you are breathing hard during a climb, just bite on the end and cool water fills your mouth. The pack is also water repellent. This came in super useful the other day when we were caught in a rain storm that drenched us to the bone, but was also the most muddy I have possibly ever been. My new pack was solid brown rather than the light blue. A couple of passes with the garden hose and the pack came completely clean without any water getting into the pack. And the hose sprays 150 psi, so the pack is very water proof. Great pack. I have recommended it to all of my other mountain bike coaches. Best I have owned.

Unacceptable Plastic Water Taste
The Geigerrig Rig 1200 pressurized hydration pack, 100-fluid ounce is an ingenious product. A back pack, with a hard plastic panel that protects a bladder that is pressured by a hand pump. My wife really loaded up this pack, putting probably 20 pounds of gear inside. When loaded at this level, and used for hiking over several hours, the pack isn't ergonomic enough to prevent neck or shoulder pain (which she never has with regular packs). The main downfall of the product is the plastic taste the bladder imparts on the water. Despite following manufacturer and other's recommendations for eliminating the plastic taste to the water, it never went away. I consider this pack unusable for the really terrible plastic water taste. Not recommended. Ever. Too bad it's too late to return it.

Best Hydration Pack on the Market!
I love this Geigerrig hydration pack. I have 2 Geigerrig hydration packs and both have held up extremely well. I have had one of these packs for several years and have used it a lot. I am not easy on it, and it is still in great condition. The pressurized bladder system is cool, but I don't always use it. It does make sharing water or cleaning things with your water very easy. I like that you have the choice to use it or not. I find it most useful on group hikes. The large 3 liter bladder is great, on shorter hikes and bike rides I put less water in it but it is nice to be able to put 3 liters in when you need to. By far my favorite feature is how easy to clean the bladder is. It is completely reversible and can be put in a dishwasher! Because it is reversible, it is easy to get it completely dry for when you are storing it. This size pack is great for day hikes or if you have kids and need to bring more stuff.

Sturdy material Easy handling for bladder Bladder can be pressurized ...
Pros:Sturdy materialEasy handling for bladderBladder can be pressurizedCons:The zippers are hard to operate, need two hands all the timeThe bladder capacity is smaller than claimedThe worst part is the space for the bladder is too small. At 3/4 full and up, you really have to work to stuff the bladder into the compartment. After that, you really have to work hard to zip it.

Defective product
I ordered this hydration backpack and bladder and it came with the straw kinked, which prevented water from flowing. I sent it back and had it replaced only to have the bladder leak from the bottom and drench my backpack and back while mountain biking. I had the backpack and bladder replaced a third time, only to have the exact same problem.....water leaking out the bottom of the bladder drenching me. Awful, defective product.

Excellent product
This thing is awesome. Fits everything i need. Im a small guy and this fits really good. If youve got big shoulders or large chest this might fit really snug. Even with the shoulder straps loosened its kinda hard to get on. Id look for something else if your a really big dude.
