Are men threatened by this movie??.....not as bad as many say...
I think the reason this film is being trashed by so many reviewers is because this scenario could & probably has happened to men, first off I will say I am not a fan of Eli Roth in any way, his "Hostel" films I refuse to watch, I don't mind gore if it serves the story, but those films are just gory for the sake of being gory, at first I had reservations about watching this one, but having seen Ana De Armas in the recent "Blade Runner 2049" & being a fan of Keanu Reeves I figured it was time to give this one a look seeing that she is in it & it being a $5.00 add-on-item, I figured why not, because of the reviews I expected to hate this film but was pleasently surprised at how effective its suspense was, suspense thrillers are rare in films these days....now on too the review....Like many suspense thrillers before it, this is a cautionary tale about a married guy who's wife is gone away for the weekend, it doesn't help that early on she postpones a sex morning with him, so he is sexually fustrated to begin with, but focuses on his work as an architect but then he hears a knock at the door & discovers two women in the rain who are looking for shelter, being a good guy who thinks he is doing a good deed he lets them in & agrees to call them a cab, but while waiting they begin to seduce him, watching him resist the temptation is fun because we know as viewers he is going to cave & cave in he does as he finds them naked in his bathroom & they go down on him & then temptation takes over & a threesome results, it should be noted that the two women are seen naked for less than a minute, not a lot as one reviewer said (were they watching to same movie??) the next morning Reeves wakes up to find the girls in his kitchen making a mess of epic proportions & it is clear they don't want to leave, when he threatens to call the police they say they are underage, eventually he takes them home only to find them back in his home & meaner than ever as they play torturous psychological warfare on him & we are given this morality tale that says that all men no matter how much they love their wife & children, they can never resist temptation when seduced, which appears to be true for the most part & this film like "Fatal Attraction" (1987) & "Derailed" (2005) before it drives that point home, which is why I think so many are trashing it.....they see themselves in this movie & knows its true.....simply put this is a cautionary tale of morality & why you should never let strangers in your home, I myself actually had 3 girls knock on my door claiming to be part of a church group who wanted to talk to me about Jesus while this movie was in theatres, no way did I let them in, they probably were part of a church group soliciting believers & new members, but I wasn't about to find out......especially knowing about this movie in 2015....however, I think the alternate ending should have stayed simply because they slip up while targeting their next victim....won't spoil it here.I put this one right up there with films like..."The Hitcher" (1986, 2007).....never pick up strangersDisturbia (2007).....never spy on your neighbors"JoyRide" (2001).....never play pranks on truck drivers"Single White Female" (1992).....make your rent affordable."Knock Knock" may have some suspension of belief moments, but it is a unique thriller that probably has happened.

A morality tale but not a revenge thriller
You cannot really put them film into the female revenge category, ala I Spit on Your Grave, or "Return to Sender, or Last House, as the women are willing initiators and there is no "revenge" only minor psychological torture of a weak but good man who succumbs to temptation. The game seemed a bit extreme for the these girls- not much of a payoff for the extremity of their acts (not talking about Keanu- someone else suffered more), and I wish the film would have given more backstory as to WHY they were doing what they did; it may have allowed us to feel a bit more empathy for them, but in the end the viewer, perhaps even if the audience is women, are left hoping they get their due. This movie is the equivalent of the recent "gym tiktok" fad - women strategically creating sexy workout videos in gyms to get attention from men, only then to post their videos demeaning and them and trying to create social media pile-on attempts. And perhaps the message is the same - ignore the women in the gym, and at your door, no matter how in distress they appear to be, because of the possibilities. The women are beautiful, the movie is entertaining, but it certainly is a throwaway for Keanu. Wait until it is free on Prime.

Movie stays safe and just not jarring enough. Not one of Keanu's better movie choices.
***Contains some spoilers***I watched this movie because it starred Keanu Reeves and was billed as a "horror movie" on another site. It's not a horror movie but it is one man's horror come true. Keanu is his usual cute self in the movie. He's married with kids but still seems a bit immature as his wife is the bread winner and seems to be in charge of the household. His wife and young kids head off to camp for a weekend (Father's Day weekend which may mean the family isn't perfectly happy.) while he stays home to work. And then the fun begins. Two young women knock at his door, shivering and soaking wet from the pouring rain and ask to come in and use his computer as they lost their phones and don't have any numbers memorized to call anyone but they can get to friends on social media. One thing leads to another and the three end up in bed. Keanu's character does protest and put up a good fight but these stunning and naked young women win him over. That is the end of his fun. They then turn his life into hell, taking over his house and refusing to leave. When he goes to call the police, one of the girls claims she is actually 15 years old and, if he makes the call, he will go to jail for statuary rape. Stuck, he tries to get the girls to leave on their own but their actions become more and more destructive and vicious. They end up being crazed girls out to get men who cheat on their wives and the entire night was planned well in advance. There are several scenes of them torturing him in various ways, him pleading for his life, threatening, screaming, offering anything for them to leave but they continue to destroy his home, his reputation, and even his friend who shows up. One night and his entire life is ruined. I guess the point of the movie is, never cheat on your wife with two hot young women who come knocking at your door and get naked.I love Keanu and this movie was interesting in its own way but it wasn't anything that hasn't been explored in better movies before. Eli Roth is usually very gory but this movie stays away from serious gore and opts for more menacing and destruction rather than blood and guts. I think I liked the very last line said by Keanu's character's son the best of any line in the movie. It summed up the whole movie. It was like a farce rather than a true scary or disturbing movie. The acting was fine but something was missing. It was sort of like an amped up Lifetime movie with more nudity (only a little though) and cursing. It definitely isn't one of Keanu Reeves better movies. The main character could have been anyone and it would have been the same movie with the same impact. Not horrible but so far from what I expected when I decided to watch my favorite actor in a different genre of movie than he usually is in.
