Little Oily But Great Taste
When I read the reviews on this macadamias many expressed their discomfort about the macadamias being oily and that’s True. I personally don’t mind it to be oily because I find these to be tasty. I really like the taste of these macadamia and doesn’t bother me the fact that it’s a little oily. Just keep that in mind when buying it but you’ll like taste to the point of liking your fingers afterwards.

Stale, Rancid, Swiming in Oil
I should have heeded the bad reviews. I really tried to "like" them. The nuts themselves are not crisp with no noticeable macadamia nut taste. The main taste is low quality, possibly rancid oil. This product should probably not be sold. I was leaning towards two stars, but not really.I have for a long time re-roasted nuts that have grown stale with great results. So here is what I did:1. I washed 8 oz (more or less) of these nuts it very hot tap water in a colander for about one minute to get rid of as much surface oil as possible.2. Shake dry, then pat dry between paper towels.3. Place parchment paper on sheet tray, then add a layer of paper towels, toast at 325 for 11 minutes. (Ten minute might have been better.)4. Allow to cool, then salt to taste. The results are no longer oily and the nuts have a nice crunch. But, there is almost flavor, and certainly not any distinct macadamia nut taste. Kids might like them. I recommend shoppers NOT buy these. I won't buy them again.

Very Good Product
Good quality nuts. Taste is terrific. Good price. The only drawback is the quantity. There are a lot of nuts in the bag. They will be around for awhile.

Tiny, greasy, over-roasted nuggets. But still delicious
The NICE brand macadamias from Walgreens are huge compared with these. This is the tiny size you usually see in comercial cookie dough, and wonder, "are those little things the macadamias?!?" To be fair, we have only purchased this item from the seller once, and supply of natural ingredients varies...but at least in almonds, there are names for each size and grade, as there is for eggs...I am betting these are always small. Our batch was also really greasy; a lot of oil was not in the nut, as they were all a very golden color and some even chewy instead of crunchy. Way over roasted. If you want the big, pale, crunchy-butter balls that the expensive Hawaiian brands sell in tiny bottles, then go ahead and pay the price for that. These were far less expensive. You do get what you pay for. Be advised, that is not this.

Taste old and stale.
I had purchased this one other time and they tasted great. The nuts in this bag taste old and stale. I have tried to eat them a couple of times and they leave a horrible taste in my mouth. Also, it says I have until January 2025 to return them but when I click on the return link it says it is not returnable. I don’t think I’ll take the risk of buying them again. $24.99 is a lot to pay for what I got.

Will not buy again
These arrived as mostly whole macadamia nuts, with maybe a quarter of them having split into halves. They are well-coated in oil, with salt that can be felt when you pick them up. We have consumed probably around 5 cups (1.5 lb) of these.PROThese are a great price for bulk mac nuts, and make nut-butter-making-in-a-blender super easy. I made mac nut butter in our vitamix with these and didn't have to add any oil or salt - just loaded them in as-is! If it weren't for all that oil in them, they'd make a wonderful butter substitute!CONThey have a much milder, more neutral flavor than expected, and, while they do taste like nuts, they don't quite have the full mac nut flavor for which I longed. I have to admit, I was disappointed in their taste. I would have to agree with other posters, these are probably already old when they arrive. Even searching out the ones that were darker roasted (have brown, not-quite-burnt areas on them), I could not find a nut that tasted like anything better than bland and vaguely-nutty.The amount of oil in which they are coated is, in my opinion, excessive. That mac nut butter I made with these in our vitamix? Even after resting in the fridge for almost 2 weeks, none of the oil separated out - it stayed thin and runny the enter time. Just a guess, this may be related to the age of the nuts and the solids becoming less dense, so they don't separate from the oils nearly as well. Seriously, nuts should not be coated in enough oil to account for 1/4 cup of oil per 3 cups of nuts.Assuming that 1/12 (1/4 cup per 3 cups) is a correct ratio of oil to nuts, doing a rough calculation, the cottonseed oil in this accounts for approximately 13% of the weight; so, assume this 5 lb bag contains only 4.33 lb of actual mac nuts, then go price compare.Edit: We've now also tried this same brand's (and seller's) raw and unsalted version, and found them to be really great. Small, very tasty, but also very oily
These are not what I typically think of when I envision macadamia nuts. They are small (about 1/2" diameter), mostly broken, and, as a result of not being dry roasted, they are very oily. They are very lightly salted and taste great. They are so oily that you need to wash your hands before touching anything else after eating these. The oil is visible on the surface much more than in cocktail peanuts or most other non-dry-roasted nuts I am familiar with.

Great flavor, Great Value
I read the reviews and was a little worried, but now I have purchased these twice! They are delicious. They are oily, but I actually like that. The macadamias themselves taste great...almost to the point of being addicting. I went through the first bag much faster than I intended. I'll be buying more, and I really don't get the negative reviews.
