Great Triggers Enable Epic Shots
I am using PocketWizard Plus III Transceivers in a complex radio system. Of course, PocketWizard is the top name in radio triggering systems, and I have not been disappointed.I use PocketWizard Plus III for range and reliability. My application is unusual in that I trigger a large number of flashes for large scale architectural exteriors.Make no mistake: you cannot integrate PocketWizard with other brands of radio remotes. That's what all reviewers and technical support people will tell you. That's because it is true -- you cannot mix and match different brand of RF signaling. Let's be real clear on this: you cannot tune a Brand X receiver to a Brand Z transmitter. This does not mean that you cannot mix multiple brands of flash equipment and multiple brands of radio triggers, however.Just because you cannot mix radio transmitters and receivers does not mean that you cannot mechanically connect a Brand X receiver to a Brand Z transmitter. By this, I mean it is in fact possible to use a PocketWizard Plus III to trigger another brand of transmitter. This is useful when you need to mix different brands of flashes which have proprietary built-in radio triggers. For instance, I use a PocketWizard Plus III system where the sync output of the PocketWizard Plus III is used to in turn trigger two different flash systems that are mechanically attached to the PocketWizard (not mixing RF, just using a cable).Specifically, I am using a PocketWizard Plus III system to simultaneously trigger a Yongnuo YN650-TX and a Profoto Air Remote. (Note: Profoto Air Remote TTL will not work, due to the multi-pin TTL control foot, which is not reliable in basic simple single-pin hotshoes). Why would anyone want to do this? Several reasons:1) To mix multiple brands of radio controlled flashes.2) To extend the wireless range by configuring the radio system in multiple hops. Great as many triggers are, when you are shooting subjects from across a lake or river like I often do, extraordinary range is sometimes required.3) Economy. If your flash equipment has built-in receivers (Yongnuo YN560 IV and Profoto B1), there is no need to buy a separate PocketWizard Plus III for each flash head. This is significant when you consider that epic shots may require dozens of flash units. My system is currently reliable and stable using a single link of PocketWizard Plus III remotes. The next step for me will be to add an extra hop with additional PocketWizard Plus III radios. I am using the Plus III for both shutter release and flash sync. All radio systems introduce some degree of latency. I am good right now with two radio hops between the camera and the strobes; I have not yet tested with 3 hops by adding an additional PocketWizard III Plus relay.

Excellent Product and Beautiful Color
Yellow really stands out - an excellent way to prevent loss (or mistakenly taken by someone else). The set up is simple. It is fully compatible with other devices.

A flawless transceiver
This is my 15th PocketWizard and the favorite model of them all; I've used their products for 20 of my 35 years as a professional photographer. The Plus III is absolutely perfect in every way--I especially appreciate that they've eliminated the skinny antenna that always got loose. A great feature is the Repeat function, that allows PW's to relay the triggering signal to each other around corners. I LOVE the yellow color--makes it easy to know which PW is set up as my camera transmitter. I wish there were other colors available besides black or pink, like AlienBee 1600s offer. The Plus III's instruction manual is clear and easy to follow. Last, PW has superb customer support.

Love it
This Pocket Wizard Plus III is amazing. I love the 32 channel and the Multimax-like zones you can set up and easily control as well as the new build. Also like the new stylish look and color. Its way better than the Pocket Wizard II. The Pocket wizard Plus III is way more capable and durable than my Plus II trigger, and I cant believe is is cheaper than the Pocket Wizard Plus II.

DEFINITELY worth every penny.
LOVE IT! Works great! And easy to spot in a bunch of pocket wizards! My wife has the pink one, so wanted a custom look for mine as well.

Syncs with the Plus IIs no problem...
I have 5 PW Plus IIs and needed a sixth to make 3 pairs. Can't buy the Plus IIs any more (not a bad thing because they were way over priced), so I got the Plus III. Wow, what an upgrade! Twice the transceiver for half the price. Pairs right up with my Plus IIs and has a great working range. Decided on the yellow one so it could easily be found among my other lighting gear.
