This is hard to beat.
This is nice and slim and has a very low profile. And the fact that it works two ways is very reassuring. So far, it has worked flawlessly without any trouble. Just make sure you cushion it with some silicone glue and that it fits flush in the groove and against the fingerboard.

Well Designed and Made Low-Profile Truss Rod
I had previously purchased another low profile truss rod that seemed to work fine and was less expensive than the StewMac version at the time (mainly due to shipping cost). However, this new (red vinyl covered) StewMac rod, though more expensive than the other competition, is worth it and more precisely designed and uniform. The vinyl cover has no breaks and covers all of the rod except for the chrome nut. The form seems more precise, it is dead straight, and the nut end bulge (over 1/4") is less prominent and shorter...makes for easier routing and installation. These low profile rods are great for well-designed and built necks and are a minimalist design that works great over the larger, deeper double rod versions. Highly recommended!!!

Works Great
This low profile Truss Rod, works great and was the ideal answer to a super slim neck that I was building, I was copying an Ibanez Wizard neck and as most people know, they are super slim, I shaved the neck down to .800 at the first fret area and that is thin enough, I didn't want to go any closer to the truss rod than that and this thing allows you to do just that, I think its overall dimensions in that area was something like .375 or .400 tall, Not exactly sure but you should check on the StewMac website as they have the exact dimensions there. But this allowed me to still have plenty of wood left over for stability, although, I must confess that i have yet to string the guitar up, as it is still under construction, but I think it will be fine. And by the way, if you do go to the StewMac website, I seem to remember that they had this tool that they recommend and sell for like $90 plus dollars to help you install this truss rod and I was thinking I had to buy that tool, but if you are a really good woodworker, you can skip that tool and engineer your own solution instead which is what I did, just think it through and you will be fine.

Good low profile truss rod
I like this one over the regular hot rods because being thinner makes thin necks less nerve wracking

Product fit and works great.
I'm making a custom strat like guitar and knew StewMac had the truss rod I needed. I knew, through previous purchases, that the truss rod was not going to have any issues. It didn't. This is my fifth custom guitar build using StewMac products, looks like I'll continue to use them.

Solid Product
So far, this truss rod seems like a solid product. I've used it in a couple of guitar builds and am happy with both the ease of fitting it to the installation and with its performance in the guitar.
