Great Screws - Very Happy to Find Stainless Screws at This Price
I've spent a lot of time trying to find good deck screws. I started off with Deckmate polymer coated Torx screws from Home Depot. Then the price went up and I started shopping around again and eventually found Hillman polymer coated screws at a good price on Amazon. Very slightly lighter gauge (a little weaker as a result) but similar quality.12 years after I put new boards on my deck, it's started to show sign of rot, so I started pulling boards and I was dismayed to find that the screws were badly rusted. Many of them just sheered on me.I'd previously looked for stainless steel deck screws and they were really just too expensive. Then I found some that were expensive but affordable. I bookmarked them for future reference. When the deck got too bad I went back to check my bookmark and was about buy but decided to do some more searches on Amazon. Nothing really doing but suddenly these popped up as related item. These are much cheaper, coming in at about only double the price of polymer screws rather than triple or more. These are #10 instead of #9 which is better for me.I've just started using them and I'm really pleased. Well made and good thick threads. I'm hoping that whenever I have to pull these boards again (ugh), they'll come out in decent shape and won't break off.

12,000 used. 1 year. Awesome.
These are awesome. Out of the ~12,000 I used while driving through 5/8" cedar pickets into 2" cedar rails only three snapped the head. These three were due to hitting knots in the rails. 1 year later they still look awesome!

Worked Nicely.
I drove 2,066 of these screws with a 1/4" Milwaukee impact driver.I was going through 9/16" (pre-drilled) cedar into solid treated pine (not pre-drilled), countersinking the heads about 1/16" below the surface of the cedar.Results:- 2,066 screws driven successfully- 5 stripped-out heads that would not drive- 1 malformed head that the Torx drive bit wouldn't fit- Zero screws twisted offThe five stripped-out heads all occurred withing the first 150 screws, so I suspect that may have had something to do with my getting used to the impact driver. These screws are pricey, but they're stainless and they work -- at least, they did for me.
