Exceptional Precision and Durability
Exceptional Precision and Durability: Evolution Power Tools EVOSAW380 Steel Cutting Chop Saw ReviewI've had the privilege of putting the Evolution Power Tools EVOSAW380 15-Inch Steel Cutting Chop Saw through its paces, and I'm truly impressed by its cutting performance and unwavering precision. This powerhouse of a tool has consistently delivered flawless results, maintaining its exceptional cutting quality even after thousands of cuts. One of the most striking features of the EVOSAW380 is its ability to make clean and precise cuts in steel, time after time. From the first cut to the thousandth, the blade's performance has been nothing short of remarkable. The unique design of the saw, coupled with the advanced technology behind Evolution Power Tools' blades, has resulted in consistently clean and burr-free cuts that require minimal post-cutting cleanup. This not only saves valuable time but also ensures that the workpiece is ready for use without any additional finishing. What truly sets the EVOSAW380 apart is its remarkable durability. After subjecting it to an extensive workload involving thousands of cuts, the saw blade continues to perform flawlessly. The blade's longevity not only speaks to the high-quality materials used in its construction but also reflects Evolution Power Tools' commitment to producing tools that stand the test of time. This longevity is particularly impressive given the abrasive nature of steel cutting, which can often take a toll on blades from other manufacturers. The precision offered by the EVOSAW380 is second to none. Its cutting accuracy remains consistent, resulting in tight-fitting joints and minimal material wastage. This level of precision is essential in various applications, from construction to metal fabrication, where even a slight deviation can lead to compromised end products. With the EVOSAW380, I've experienced no such issues; it has consistently delivered cuts that align perfectly with my specifications.Additionally, the thoughtful design of the saw enhances the user experience. The ergonomic handle and intuitive controls make operating the EVOSAW380 a breeze. Even during extended cutting sessions, I haven't experienced discomfort or fatigue often associated with heavy-duty tools. In conclusion, the Evolution Power Tools EVOSAW380 15-Inch Steel Cutting Chop Saw is a true game-changer in the realm of steel cutting. Its ability to maintain precise and clean cuts after thousands of repetitions is a testament to its outstanding design and build quality. Well worth the money
Often I do not write reviews, but this saw impressed me so much, that I had to provide feedback. The saw is extremely well built of cast Iron or cast steel, even the blade guards are cast (the saw weighs about 50#)...very robust. The only piece of sheet metal is the chip catcher in the saw base. The only piece of plastic was the handle and trigger which were also very robust. The saw is made in China, but designed and engineered in the UK and the quality/features show. The motor comes with spare motor brushes....not sure if this is a good or iffy thing.Pros: What impressed me most:--The saw deck and workpiece clamp is very sturdy , made of cast iron or cast steel, and the quick adjust vise clamps very well and spins easily for quick tightening. The vise angle adjust was accurate with no adjustment problem found as on other saws of a similar price.--Cast saw guard, chip catcher, handle/trigger, saw head lock down pin-Saw not excessively noisy with little vibration in the handle. I also purchased the Evolution 80 tooth aluminum cutting blade which gives very smooth cuts in aluminum, although the regular 66 tooth steel cutting blade that comes with the saw does almost as well. The 66 tooth blade seemed to vibrate slightly more than the 80 tooth blade..but did not cause problems with the cutting action.--I cut the following aluminum pieces with excellent results: angle: 2x4x1/8. 2x2x1/4, channel: 3/4x2x1/8, 2x2x1/8. I-Beam 3x2.33x1/4. Cuts were very clean with almost no burrs. Follow the cutting instructions in the book for good results...don't bear down on the cut...let the saw do the work. I haven't cut steel yet, so can't comment on that yet.Cons:--The saw could really use an LED light so you can see the cut line better. There is a sticker on the saw eye guard that interferes with the view as well (in my opinion). I will build an LED light and attach it to the saw...not a major issue.--The motor/gearbox does rumble slightly and is probably the source of the little saw vibration in the handle. As I said before the vibration was not an issue and did not interfere with the cut at all.

Good quality, plenty of power
I have used an abrasive type cut-off saw for years. With a project requiring dozens of cuts on heavy stock, the consumable chop-saw blades were a big cost. Now with this carbide blade, I complete the same cuts with almost no additional cost. The saw is no longer a "consumable" like welding supplies I must factor into the project price. Additionally, the cuts are clean, square and accurate. Cuts are faster and finish cool to the touch. The frame and base are machined cast metal which resists deflection under load. The down side of this unit is the vice handle is flimsy. I have already had to remove it to straighten the tiny threaded screw that holds it in place. It will be broken in no time and need replacement. Also, I wish it had a "zero-clearance" blade throat so small cut off ends would not go zinging into the throat opening like a bullet. That condition also resulted in a channel-iron cut off end jamming the blade causing premature blade damage. So be extra careful trimming end cuts that can fall in.Other than those minor issues, it is a good tool and a very good price. I would buy the same model again.

Great so far
Great tool ! Makes fab work go so much quicker! A little pricey but worth it if you do a lot of metal work! Good power haven’t seen anything it doesn’t cut ( only used on mild steel) cut perfect 90 degree out of the box ! I try to buy American made products when I can but it’s 300$ less than Milwaukee ( a friend of mine has a Milwaukee) and cuts as well or better!
