Great Product For Cooking
The powdered eggs are essential these days since the price of fresh whole eggs is so insanely high. The bag isn't huge but equivalent to 32 eggs so I'm not complaining. The taste is fine but I have only used as an egg replacement in recipes. Great to use for cooking and/or camping. Not a long shelf life on the bag (about a year) so not something you could keep for an emergency stash. But all in all, I would buy again.

Highly suggested for backpacking and camping
I'd probably give a 4.5, but rounded up to 5 stars because of what these actually are!Purchased for protein during multi-day backpacking trip. At first I was frustrated because I thought the package I had ordered contained 12 individually wrapped servings. Instead, the bag had the equivalent of 12 eggs in bulk. But, there was a simple fix. I scooped out the measurements with a TB measure at home and put the egg crystals in a plastic container with a packet of silica (for moisture management).Mixing the eggs in the field was a snap. Just add as much water as you would expect to see liquid for the number of eggs you wish to prepare. The crystals absorbed water quickly and I cooked the eggs shortly after mixing. The end result reminded me much of eggs made from liquid egg product or egg whites. They spread out quickly (maybe more quickly for me due to the amount of water added) but could be fluffed to make a good scramble. The taste was accurate egg taste. In fact I wondered if there was actually some added salt. The texture is close, if not a little gritty. I wondered if this was the mere addition of sand to my mixture, or if it was just the product. When I returned home I wanted try to let the egg soak for a few minutes before cooking it and when I did so I found that the gritty texture was lessened. (Which doesn't prove the cause wasn't dirt, but does suggest to me that some of the crystals take a little longer to be re-hydrated)The photo was taken on my second cooking, at home. Two eggs are pictured with some herbed goat cheese folded in (not visible) next to a 6 oz eye of round.

Really good for powdered eggs
These are some of the best dehydrated/powdered eggs I've ever had. I give them 4 stars because they are very good, but they still don't taste like fresh eggs. Thus, a 4 not a 5. To do this review, I whipped 3 eggs and compared it to the equivalent of 3 eggs from the mix.Whipping them side-by-side, the powdered eggs were more orange-colored and actually smelled more "egg-like" than the fresh but store-bought eggs. Still, the smell was just a little off, although you can also say that store bought eggs are too pale and not very flavorful. When I cooked them, the real eggs came out fluffier. The powdered eggs were a little flatter and more dense, but perhaps a little extra water or longer whisking would have fixed that. The taste and consistency are both very good and "egg-like". However, I suggest cooking them with something. Cook them in butter; add a little soy sauce; put a slice of cheese on top; or make an omelet out of them. I cooked a second batch with some green onions and mushrooms, and they were even better. This stuff is great for backpacking, camping, or for emergency purposes. At a ratio of 2 powder: 3 water, it's lightweight and requires little water.I'll definitely be buying more.

Powdered eggs that aren't gross!
I ate powdered eggs for the first time in 1982. They were so awful that I still cringe to this day. But Ova Easy aren't eggs from the 80s. They cook up just like fresh scrambled eggs, smell like scrambled eggs and taste like scrambled eggs. Now, I wouldn't pay a dollar per egg if I was cooking at home, but for backcountry camping, these make an A1 breakfast.

JUST like eggs in a carton!
We needed to carry 2 doz eggs on a backpacking trip to make breakfast for a large group. I had tried the usual backpacking eggs and wasn't at all impressed, and they were much more expensive than these. I was a little unsure about this, but decided there would be enough cheese and veggies that it probably wouldn't matter, and besides they couldn't be worse than the powdered variety. We reconstituted them with water following the directions, and used a small whisk to whisk out any clumps. Following that, they looked just like regular eggs that had been cracked and scrambled. Poured them in the pan and they cooked up just like regular eggs, no watery spots, fluffy, tender. Cheese and veggies added after tasting them plain, I could eat these plain! Real egg texture and taste, in a tiny little bag! Everyone was very impressed with breakfast! I will definitely be buying these again! The dozen is an ample dozen, not a scrawny dozen so a great lightweight choice for a hearty fast cooking breakfast! Just be aware that you have to handle them like raw eggs as far as cleanliness goes

handy item with an acceptable flavor
howdy y'all,i tried these to see how they compared to the dehydrated eggs we had when i was a kid. they are actually fairly decent. clearly NOT as tasty as the real stuff, but not objectionable like the stuff we had at the base when i was a kid. if they were a tad cheaper i would rate them a FOUR.rated a THREE since the price is still a tad too high to justify switching from real eggs to this stuff.take care, lee

I can eat eggs again!
I love fresh eggs but my digestive system doesn't. I decided to try powdered eggs and took a chance on these. They exceeded what my expectations in taste and texture, but the best part is that I was able to digest them without any after effects! So excited that can enjoy an egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast again!

Yummy!
I was skeptical but this stiff is pretty good! Works best in a recipe or, as I had them, on an egg sandwich-then you can barely tell the difference from fresh eggs. They mix up easily and honestly I haven't measured that carefully but it works out. Not the best value but they are good.
