I am pleasantly surprised that these less expensive watercolors are deeply pigmented. I usually but Daniel Smith, but the quality of these is smooth and mixes well. Some of my favorite colors aren’t available so will still buy DS paints.

I love these watercolors. The hues are vibrant and the paint pans are easy to work with. My only complaint is that the plastic case is somewhat difficult to open. Make the latch more user-friendly and you will have the perfect compact set of quality watercolor paints.

I received 24 paints in a deep well styled tin. Next two that I ordered were in a cheap plastic tin that was hard to open/close. They would pop pans out in the dirt for plain air and got sent back. I’m going to contact Paul Rubens about this when Mei Lang has thin tins and are not “different” from these except these have less paint in each half tin. Re-wets nicely. Sad about the cheesy plastic carrier. I’ve ordered the MeiLang 5 ml tubes and they are awesome!

This is my second set of Paul Rubens watercolors. I think the quality is excellent and they are a great value for the money.

I'm just starting out on watercoloring, so I pretty much suck at it & need lots more practice. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on paints considering I don't know yet if I'll really get into this, but I wanted something better than dollar store quality, and this seems to fit the bill. This set makes me feel like an artist, though I am far, far from one. Nice range of colors. Pretty vibrant. Mix well together & with other liquid watercolor paints I have. They dry shinier than I would prefer, but good enough quality for me & probably any other beginner painter out there.
