Strong magnets
Strong magnets. I haven't had the opportunity to take them out fishing yet, but luckily the brainiacs at Amazon shipping placed both of the magnets that I ordered in the same, oversized box with no filler/padding. The magnets were stuck together through their flimsy little boxes like a pitbull with their favorite toy. I tried to pull them apart with no luck. The box of one the magnets completely ripped off at the bottom with the magnets still stuck together. I, also a brainiac, decide to try and pry them apart with a butter knife. They start to pull apart and I stick my thumb between them to get a grip, the butter knife slips, and the magnets clamp down on my thumb. I yell out a couple of F-bombs as I pry the magnets apart. My thumb is throbbing as I place each of the magnets on opposite sides of the room just in case. Strong magnets.

I confirmed that the force rating was indeed high!
My initial thought was that it didn’t feel like a 600lb strength magnetic and that maybe my 400lb rated magnet (different brand) was stronger but it turns out that my calibrated elbow or gut feeling was wrong. I just tested the strength using a state of the art materials testing system and measured just over 500lbs. I used a compression platen that was coated and I don’t believe the coating was magnet, which explains why the value was below 600lbs. Had I used a non-plated platen, the force would have been higher. Maybe not 600 lbs but definitely higher.

Powerful & Inexpensive Too!
Most of you have watched YouTube video's on Magnet Fishing, where they're use 500-1000lb magnets. Let me simply say this: if you mistakenly connect this magnet to a metal pipe, it will take you a while to get it off! So why would you want or need anything more powerful? This is a great magnet and it does the job and it does it inexpensively!

My Setup for Magnet Fishing
This magnet was just the size I wanted and I made my Weed Protector on my 3D Printer. Works Perfect!

Very strog
Very strong magnets. I used them to mount a very heavy steal box to a truck instead of welding. I have 6 total holding it down along with 4, 3" 90lbs magnets. I had 2 guys from work try and pull /push it off and it didn't move at all.

strong magnet. After a year, I’ve used it maybe 6 times in a freshwater lake. It is rusting out kinda bad. It won’t be long till the whole bottom is rustedthe only things I’ve got so far is about a million fish hooks and a couple pocketknives . Very surprised it is rusting so badly but I should also say this was my first magnet for fishing and it is a very good one for first timers to learn with.. I should also say the rusting and peeling metal creates some very sharp edges , easy to get cut on. Be careful

Powerful magnet
This thing is the real deal. We bought a braided rope and attached a carabiner to the end. There is a pond on our property so we threw it out there to see if anything was in it, no luck. So just to see if it worked right away. I threw a bunch of metal objects out there (bolts, a metal bar, screws, and a piece of galvanized rabbit fencing (3’x 3’ approximately). The pond has a muddy bottom and we visually could not see any of these items when they were thrown in. My son threw the magnet in and recovered all the items including the fencing. Pretty awesome! Then I went and stuck the thing on a flat piece of metal, old car rim, I couldn’t get it off! I’d say the rim weighed at least 50 lbs and the magnet didn’t even move. I had to use a screwdriver to wedge it off. Nice! Seeing that just warned me to not get it stuck in some fixed metal object in the water or a place where we can’t to it. If that happened, we probably would lose it. Highly recommend.
