Definitely helps!!
Let me start with saying that this stuff definitely helps! I followed the instructions from one of the other reviewer's and this is how it went for me. In summary, it works but not for very long.1. Rinsed the tattoo area with warm water, used some exfoliating cream, shaved the area and patted it dry.2. My appointment was at 2pm, so I put the numbing cream on my calf around 12:15pm. I probably used around 75% of my tube, so I used a good bit.3. I then wrapped it up with saran wrap and gently massaged the area every 10 or so minutes to help the cream access my pores.4. Around 1:15-1:20pm, I removed my saran wrap and gently wiped off the excess cream. I did NOT rinse with water, only wiped it off with a paper towel.5. Around 2pm, 40 minutes later, I felt the numbing really kick in!6. Then a speed bump happened haha — my tattoo artist unfortunately was running a little behind so we didn't start tattooing until around 3:15pm, so a good hour later.7. Once we started tattooing, I mean it, I did not feel a SINGLE THING!! It was the coolest feeling, I was so shocked! All I felt for an hour-ish was just the vibration of the machine against my calf.8. Sadddddly, around 4:30pm, my numbing gradually began to wear off. I have a gut feeling that if we had started my tattoo around 2pm, I would've had a good 2 hours of numbing to work off. But since we started a little later, I only got about an hour of relief. The remaining 4 hours was pure pain haha I felt every moment of the machine after that 🥲All in all, even though the cream doesn't last 6-8 hours as advertised, I still recommend it!! I got to miss out on a majority of the outlining phase so I was happy to say the less haha. Hope this helps!!

10 Stars
I have to rate this Samnyte numbing cream 10 stars. Worked excellently and allowed me to sit completely still for my first tat which was 3.5 hrs. If I moved around, the spear in the center of my tat would have come out wavy and jagged, and I couldn't have that! So I read the reviews, of about 5 different creams, considered everything carefully, and took a chance on this numbing cream. I liked that this one said up to 6 hrs where most of the others said like 1 or 2 hours.Let me tell you, it worked extremely well. I couldn't feel anything AT ALL. It felt like my artist was using a tat machine with a marshmallow on the tip. What really surprised me is that it fades off veeerryyyy gradually. So you dont go from 0 pain to all of it all at once. It slooowwlly fades in which was surprisingly pleasant. I loved the experience and I wouldn't get another tattoo without the Samnyte numbing cream. Here's some pro-tips on how to get the best and longest lasting effect.1: Shower and wash your tattoo area with hot water first, then shave your tattoo area. This is good advice for any tattoo, but its especially useful for this numbing cream. The shower will take the oils off your skin that will fight the cream, the heat will open your pores so they can capture the numbing cream well, and the shave will take off that top shell of dead skin cells blocking the cream.2: Rub your tattoo area with rubbing alcohol first. This will break up any remaining oils, and sterilize the area.3: Once everything dries, now you can apply the cream. Put on a nice thick layer. Don't worry about using too much product, worry about using too little. Im 6ft 6 and my tattoo area is huge, and I still only used 25% of my tube. You shouldn't be able to see any of your natural skin under the cream. If you can see skin, that area is too thin. Be sure to apply cream past where you think your tattoo will be. This allows room for adjustments by your artist and will keep the nerves around your area happy. You'll thank me later for that, because the areas without cream will hurt like normal lol. Take it from me.4: Cover the area in saran wrap and put it on LOOSELY. Not tight and not baggy, but loose enough that you can still keep the height of the cream in place. The saran wrap is just there to keep the cream from sliding off and numbing your carpet. There should be no tension in the wrap. You're essentially just laying it on top of the area and looping it over it self to keep it closed. If you get to that point, its perfect.5: Every 10 mins or so, gently rub and spread the cream through the saran wrap around the area, massaging it into your pores a little further. This seems like a small step but makes a big difference in your absorption. You'll notice that after doing this there's less and less cream on your skin than in the beginning. Perfect. You're gonna want to let it sit covered for about 40 to 45 minutes or so.6: After 45 minutes, remove the saran wrap and gently rinse off the cream. There will still be quite a bit left over. Thats a good sign that you put on enough in the beginning. At this point you still wont feel all that numb yet. But after about 20 to 30 mins. BOOM. Anesthesia level.7: Now all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your tatt. Just chill snd focus on something you enjoy. Definitely bring some headphones food and water with you. I listened to inspirational videos and watched stand up comedy videos during my tatt. It was super pleasant. Dont make it hard on your self by focusing 100% on whether something hurts or not because you're telling your mind to look for pain. You're going to be sitting in that chair for a while which will get very boring. Bring some kind of content that you enjoy, then relax and enjoy it. When its done, you're gonna come out with a great tattoo.Cheers.

Worked for the most part.
So I followed instructions I say here in chat. I showered in hot water, shaved dried rubbed with alcohol. I rub a layer in like lotion on the area. Then I went back 15 mins later and put as thick a layer as I could then wrapped with saran wrap. I did all this at like 2 and my appointment was at 4. Got there and he drew it up, when he was down at around 4:45 we took off the saran wrap and wiped off the excess cream and started tatting. When intelnyall I felt nothing !! Felt like he was drawing on me with a pin! I even dozed off a couple times. There were a few spots that I felt it but that’s because either I didn’t put cream on that area or not enough. It took him about 3-3 1/2 hours to do the outline then we took a break. I stepped outside to get something out my car. When he started back I started feeling it a little. Idk if the cream was wearing off, if stepping outside in the air negates the cream or if my leg was just getting too sore. Within another hour I was squirming but we were at the finish line. I go back next weekend to add more to the design and I am buying two tubes this time and using twice as much ! All in all the cream lasted like 4 1/2 hours before it became rough.

Really Works!
Don't normally write reviews, and was not sure this product would work. The reviews looked good so I thought I would give it a try. To my surprise, it actually helped numb the area where I got my tattoo. I could even tell where I got the cream on and where I had missed a spot and felt a little more pain. I'm a baby when it comes to pain, but I really like my tattoos, so it's worth it. Will definitely use again for my next tattoo. I put a good amount of the cream on about 3 hours before my appointment and covered the area with plastic wrap. Do not rub in, let it sit there covered. You do need to give it time to work. I would do no less than 3 hours. Give it a try, it does help!
