As a heater, it will pretty much do what all electric space heaters in the 5,000 BTU range will do. Any temp. below 45 in a medium to larger size room won't make much of a difference, unless you are running your main furnace, but you can heat a room under 200 sq ft. Be careful how you put the legs on. You would think the tabs would seat in before you put the screws in, but they don't. The screws are what float the tabs in. If you try to force them in, they will break. Use a magnetic Phillips bit like other reviewers suggest. I did not and they were a pain, but I got them in without breaking them. The flame drive is very quiet. Most of the ones I have owned have a rattle to them, which can be quite annoying. Duraflame drive units were the worst. The flame effect is very basic, but pleasant. For the money, you can do a lot worse. It's a basic machine that doesn't pretend to be anything else. I'm glad I bought it.

Liked the ambiance but after a few uses, it makes a slight but noticeable noise. Like low rattle furnace that it's on. But keeps you very warm and cozy!

Love the fire scenery inside fireplace

I got rid of the old insert which required burning flame gel. Even though it had a real flame, became very expensive. I purchased this insert for my home office and it's nice, warm and cozy. Wish it had a remote. Overall I love it

The media could not be loaded.  I love this Heater. Puts out just enough heat to warm my living room. I can turn it toward the couch and get nice and toasty. Feel like I’m by a fireplace. I would definitely gift this.

The media could not be loaded.  Decided it was time for a new space heater so I purchased this one. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing but it heats my apartment perfectly. The only thing it lacks is a remote control.

The legs took me almost 2 hours to put on. Fitting the slots and tiny little screws. I was shorted one of the screws. I had to find a magnetic screwdriver, otherwise you would not be able to put them on with a regular Phillips screwdriver. Although after that, in very pleased with it.

Nice heater but cord gets hot running at full power. Should have option to run at lower wattage.
