Brilliant build, faulty features
I brought this laptop about a week before Christmas, something nice for myself after trying to get a GPU for over a year to build a pc. With the Lenovo Legion 7 being rated one of the best laptops of year, having great cooling and power delivery to the components, I thought that when it would arrive it would just work, maybe a few updates and I would be able to relax over Christmas with it.However my unit had two glaring issues, the display and what's running it. Now by all regards there's nothing wrong with the display itself, it's vibrant, supports Gsync, HDR, and can run at 60hz or 165hz... or it should. The Lenovo Legion 7 allows the display to be switched between 60hz and 165hz when the Fn + R keys are pressed at the same time, the laptop which was delivered to me had it where when the keys were pressed nothing would happen, other hotkeys such as changing the keyboard RGB worked. I attempted a fix, go into Nvidia control panel and manually set the display refresh rate to 165hz, this unfortunately created graphical artefacts and windows jumping across the screen. The second issue is to do with the GPU and the APU in the laptop. This Lenovo Legion 7, and all others like it such as the 5 and 5 Pro, has two graphical processors in it being the RTX 3070 (dedicated) and the other is the AMD Radeon APU (integrated) built into the CPU.To manage these processors the laptop has two features, Nvidia Optimus and a MUX switch, I'll be focusing on the MUX switch. In the Lenovo Vantage software preinstalled on the laptop it has something called "Hybrid Mode" which enables the integrated graphics at the detriment to dedicated one, when enabled on my laptop it would attempt to push 165hz to the display but because of the issue explained above wouldn't work, meaning the only way to 'fix the display' would be to log in and do Fn + R which for some reason worked when using the integrated graphics.By every regard the Lenovo Legion 7 exudes a quality of luxury, it's a beautifully crafted laptop, with premium features and a price tag to match. But for it's cost the minimum expectation would be for it to work out of the box, with a few basic updates to the drivers and that being it, not for it to have egregious quality control meaning that certain features simply don't work.If it wasn't for these issues this laptop would have easily been a wonderful device to use.

So good I bought two!
I bought the previous model for myself after I got fed up with my noisy old tower case, having to back things up and convert them to use on my aging Macbook, especially photos and photo catalogues. Took me about 6 weeks to settle on this laptop, just a notch outside my price range but so glad I went for this one and paid a little more. I was aware of some shortcomings other have mentioned like the Lenovo drivers for some items not operating properly, so first thing i did out of the box is wipe the laptop completely and installed Windows11, only installed the drivers I needed and worked perfectly.Fast forward 6 months. My wife has been Windows gaming on an 27" i5 iMac with bootcamp and she was getting fed up with game issue, incompatibilities and the expected slow performance. So I said if we sold the 2 year old iMac, put the money towards one of these laptops she'd have all the gaming power she needed but it would mean going back to Windows from Mac. She agreed gaming was the priority and I ordered another one of these along with a 4K ASUS 28" LCD panel.I put in 32GB and another 2TB SSD, wiped it out of the box and installed Windows11, minimum drivers again and she's been over the moon with it. She likes Raft and it would take about 90 secs to start up on her old iMac, on this beast it fires up in around 15-20 secs and runs as smooth as silk.Yes the fans are noisy when it's going full pelt. People have complained about some of the "malware"/drivers rubbish that Lenovo put on out of the box, my advice get Windows11 on a USB when you get it, wipe the laptop and install a clean O/S without all the garbage Lenovo put on that clogs up the box. Windows11 works like a dream out of the box, I edit 3-4GB sized images in Photoshop, hammer it with games from XBOX pass and as an IT pro I use Virtualbox to run 5-6 VMs at the same time for development work I do. Lenovo have done the sensible thing and given a huge brick of a 300W powersupply, it's big and chunky but when the laptop needs the power it gets it.These boxes can take some serious performance demands and handle them with ease, the superb charcoal brushed steel casing looks and feels amazing. 2 satisfied customers right here.

Fast. Stunning graphics. Adobe Creative suite easily handled too.
I use this laptop for the Adobe Creative Suite and it is lightning fast. The construction, materials and display are amazing.I managed to install a second 1tb SSD. It was tricky getting the laptop open, even when following YouTube videos, but everything went ok.I use this with a 22 inch Cintiq. The Display is equivalent to 2 HD, and is very sharp. If it was 4 HD the text would be far too small to comfortable read. So I find this ideal. The graphics when playing Forza are truly stunning.Glad I made the decision to go with this to cover all my needs.
