Works great
I bought this a long time ago but the post never went through. This tape lasts a long time. Rugs tape down and stay down good. Tape comes off with no problem when removing for washing rugs or moving.

NOT JUST CARPET TAPE - General Purpose Adherent - Stick-all Rubber-ish Glue Tape
I purchased this product - to use as intended - I was looking for a way to adhere my entryway carpets to my hardwood floors as my cat likes to tear through and uses them to steer... which caused pile-ups at the end of hallways. Cute, but annoying. It works - 100% as advertised and will do the job - as described. I would be willing to place my own reputation on that...However - I do not feel the manufacturer is doing the product, and what it's capabilities are - justice. This really truly is the best adherent product I have ever used - and there have been many - I like to tinker... It is easy to use - easy to stick - thick enough to be pushed into porous materials - and thin enough to be used between just about anything and not be seen. (The only thing this product could not replace as an adherent would be something where a non-sticky side is required - i.e. scotch tape. I would also be wary to use it on paper - as the glue-type material would likely cause the wet paper poster look that is caused by rubber cement type materials. BUT - if you stuck it - it would not come loose - unless you wanted it to - and yes - I think if done - you could even remove it from paper - providing you did it within a short timeframe.)I have found it's uses to be absolutely limitless - and haven't even started to break into the roll I purchased - it will likely last a lifetime. I just hope - that when I do need another roll in 10 or so years - it is still available...This stuff - is absolutely amazing - it can be used anywhere for anything. They are marketing it completely wrong. This stuff is portable - 2 sided scotch tape type glue - and can be used just like that. It can be applied to just about any job or project or repair to just about anything known to man - and it will adhere. I have had not one issue with it sticking to any and all surfaces. It is amazingly gooey - and will when forced - works it's way into the smallest cracks - so it can even be used - in a way - to replace super glue on a small item repair. This stuff is amazing.About it being removable - I have even had to remove it - and it was difficult to pull off - but I was able to remove it from a hard surface - with help from a solvent - it came off without issue (without the solvent it did leave a slight residue that was hard to remove). I do not think it would be easily removed from the backside of a carpet - it would likely tear it to pieces - so if used on the back - your carpet - it will stick - fairly certain the carpet would be intact and undamaged - but, removing it from a piece of carpet would not be advised. In my opinion, why would you want to remove the tape from the back of the carpet? That usually means you are moving - buy a new one (I guess if you have expensive throw carpeting - maybe this would be a concern - myself - this is not an issue). There was a negative review about this - so I felt it was relevant and I do agree with what they said about the back of a carpet - it is relevant - but not deserving of a negative score. I don't think it would be easily removed from the back side of a carpet. I just wouldn't try to do that. This product - as a carpet tape - will do the job 100% as described - it WILL stick. This product as a general adhesive product - is even better!

Cutting this tape can be a little tricky -- here's a tip that might help
I used this tape to stick down stair treads. It really works! But it's so sticky that cutting it to fit the treads was problematic. I had 13 steps to do and after the second one, the scissors got so sticky that they wouldn't let go of the tape. My fingers were sticking to the tape, too. I felt like I was in an episode of I Love Lucy! Here's my advice based on that experience. To cut the right length, unroll the tape - sticky side UP - over the stair tread until it's the right length. Cut the first length with your sharpest scissors. Cut in one motion -- don't try to "chop." Peel off the protective paper that does NOT stick to the tape, and press the sticky side down on the tread where you want it to go. Here's the tip: Before you cut the next length of tape, snip off a section of the paper. I used a piece about 2-inches long. See first photo. Unroll the length of tape you need. Put a little piece of the non-stick paper on the free end so you can handle it. Put the 2-inch piece of paper on the tape at the uncut end, next to the roll. See middle photo above. When you cut through that patch of paper, your scissors won't get stuck. Use the bits of non-stick paper to handle the tape as you place it where you need it to be. Don't press down firmly until you're sure the position is correct. Press the tape down and peel off the little "handles." Voila! Repeat by snipping yourself a 2" patch to place next to the roll of tape before you cut your next length. Be sure to keep the sticky side up until you cut the new length of tape off the roll. If the scissors do get too sticky to cut, clean them with Goo-Gone. Another tip: don't press your stair tread (or rug, or whatever) down firmly until you're sure it's positioned correctly. If you don't press hard, you can still pull it up and reposition it ONCE -- but the tape is very sticky and won't take a lot of fussing. Use a template to position your treads on the stairs. I used a simple piece of cardboard at one end and eye-balled the edge nearest the nose of the stair. It came out beautifully.

HUGE Roll, Works Great
Well, I sort of fell into the "Costco" trap on this--bought WAY more than I needed (seriously needed a six inch strip), but the price was fair and it seemed silly to buy so much less for the same price when this had terrific reviews. It was easy enough to apply this, but getting the wheel started was the trickiest part. It's very sticky, and it has held down my anti-fatigue mat on concrete floors without a single budge (I walk 25k-35k steps at my desk every day, so that's saying a lot). I'm serious when I say I only used a six inch strip on one side with the other side wedged under my desk leg. No issues at all.My only concern was that this tape might be tough to remove from concrete because it is very sticky, but I think with a scraper and some Goo Gone it should come off fine. I just wish they offered smaller rolls for a reasonable amount left. I'll end sharing this with my office since I don't want it to go to waste.
