After two years of faithful service, I can confidently say that my North Face Recon backpack deserves an award for “Best Supporting Actor in a Student’s Life.” This bag has seen me through countless early morning classes, late-night study sessions, and dramatic dashes to the library before it closes.Let’s be real: I bought this bag with the hopes of looking like a rugged adventurer ready to conquer mountains. Instead, it’s mainly been my trusty sidekick for hauling around textbooks, notebooks, and the occasional snack (because who can study without a granola bar?).The durability of this backpack is legendary. I’ve dropped it, stuffed it, and even used it as a makeshift pillow during those long lectures where I might have nodded off. Yet, it remains unscathed—like a superhero that just won’t quit! The zippers? Still zipping. The straps? Still supporting my questionable life choices in book selection!With all the pockets, I feel like I could hide a small village in there. I’ve got a pocket for my laptop, a pocket for my water bottle, and even a secret stash for the candy I hide from my study group (shhh, don’t tell!).Overall, this North Face Recon backpack has been an absolute gem for carrying my books and the weight of my academic stress. I needed a more durable back pack with more room for nursing school and one that wouldn’t hurt my back. Never spent this much on a back pack always went the cheaper route but decided to try it and I’m so glad I did it fits all my books and is so much more comfortable to wear then my cheap one and is very well made. It was worth every penny!

Great value, very durable & holds a lot.

For some time now, I’ve been searching for a replacement for my older North Face Recon backpack, which is an older model than this one. The old one made it roughly 10 years, and now starting to rip on the bottom. Which speaks to North Faces durability. The differences between the two are vast, but still strikes some similarities. The multiple pockets are nice for organization, and can fit plenty of things. As seen in the pictures, the laptop sleeve fits my 17 inch laptop with plenty of room and is nicely padded, and the other pocket has tons of room for notebooks and such.Straps are comfyPros:Can fit 17 inch laptopsPlenty of room in the middle pocketThe backpack material is high quality, along with the zippersCons:Removal of some features from the original recon backpack, such as webbing and clips, aswell as the front pocket seeming much smaller in comparisonThe stitching for the straps doesn’t seem amazing, but only time will tell.TLDR: Overall a great backpack with plenty of storage for anyone, whether it be a student, or a hiker, this backpack has the capacity, comfort, and style for whatever you’re hauling. Would highly recommend.

Was looking for a bag to take on an overseas trip to carry on the plane plus have hands free to haul luggage and have room for an extra set of clothes, snacks, general items for the plane. Fantastic that I could stuff two changes of clothing in this, plus, chargers, general plane stuff and still had a ton of room while expanded. Cinched it up so that it would fit under the plane seat. No problems there, bought souvenirs on the trip that wouldn't go in the luggage, plenty of room in the backpack to bring home. Was like an extra suitcase at that point. Fit comfortably on my shoulders, great features with plenty of room in the compartments.

Fair price - solidly constructed materials. Compartments are nice and the zippers operate smoothly. Great college or commuters backpack as it has an awesome protective area for a laptop. A+
