BOILS ONE CUP OF WATER IN UNDER A MINUTE.
I often need just one cup of hot tea without going through hassle of boiling the entire pot and also pouring it into the cup. This little gizmo lets me just pour water into my cup and then I just stick this thing in and voila.I use glass cups/mugs see through so it is fun and joy to see it boiling. Every tee feels like science experiment. This is the exact type I am using to boil directly in them:https://www.amazon.com/Libbey-Crystal-Coffee-Warm-Beverage/dp/B07DT42VFL/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=glass+mugs&qid=1613066485&sr=8-11I am using this heater for about eight months or so, every single day one or two times a day and never any problems. If this is your first time buying this thing (I grew up with them but I know some people did not):here is few safety and practical tips with those devices:= this device is super quick, don't go away when you put it into the water, stay around as it will be ready so fast, if you lave it boiling for half hour you will come back to empty glass and possibly broken and it can be a fire hazard.= when you stick it in the water cup, put the cup on some heat resistant surface beacause boiling water is very hot so your cup can melt some plastic sheet or stuff like that if you put it on it.= once you are done, first unplug it and then take it out.= when you take it out have some plate or empty glass jar to put it in to rest and cool. Don't leave it on flammable surfaces like wood because even if off, very hot and can be unsafe.= never boil water near your body or children as if the glass brakes which could happen as one in a million a glass can have some micro crack and can let go.. so if it breaks, hot water would not go on the skin causing damage.= if you are new to this, use metal cups first to get familiar with this as glass requires respectful careful handling.= I tend to sometimes boil things when this thing is not entirely submerged, to the point where metal leveler isand it works for me, however it get oxydized as in changes color to rainbow dark steel but it is fine by me.= don't wash it ever as you should only use it with plain water that does not make it dirty.= if you use it daily, after some months there will be accumulation of stone on the metal part just like on your teeth but you can clean it by soaking it in vinegar for a little. All will fall off, then rinse.Overall very useful gizmo that has tone of millage in my house.Last note of caution if you for some reason are forgetful, get yourself plug in timer for your outlet and THEN insert it into it, have timer set to five minutes so worse case scenario it will turn off automatically. If you ever need to leave it for a second have a handy portable timer, set it and only then leave. So something will remind you that this gizmo is plugged in.

Great! Just do not preheat the coils.
Great! Heated fine the first cup. But the second cup I left the rod hanging from the table. And when I put it into the cold water, the coils were red hot. This immediately ruined the coils! It was my fault but will buy another two, today. So i won't lack warm water to drink, teas, and mouth washes.

Works, but limitations
These work really well, but buyers should be aware of some limitations. If you put one of these in 15oz or so of water, it might take close to 9 minutes to reach max temp. Disclaimer: my attention span isn't long enough, so I haven't really watched it every minute to see if it happened sooner. The point is, it takes a good while. The same amount of water in my mini electric kettle takes like 3 mins--but that figures: it's 600 or so watts. So, be aware of the realities of energy and heat. A 300 watt coil is going to heat half as fast as a 600 watt device. ( ... so can you put two of them in there at once? I haven't tried that. Seems complicated and risky, depending on your container and outlet situation.) For travel, I think this could work great for me for tea: heat the water right in the mug, relatively small mug. For pour-over coffee, though: I like to make a bigger batch and this seems too slow. But the alternative is packing an electric kettle or coffee maker of some kind and space may not permit, so I'm keeping these immersion eaters as an alternative when needed.

Very helpful
Great little gadget to pack along for those times when your room doesn't have a microwave to warm up your coffee.

Solid product at half the price - two for price of one.
This immersion heater is about like all the rest. Insert in liquid, plug in, let heat, UNPLUG, wait 30 seconds then remove from liquid -- in that order. Or you will burn it up, like any immersion heater. The best part about this product is the fact that you get two for the price of one. And they are both just fine.

Works quickly
I am a coffee fan and don’t want to be without really good coffee even when on vacation. Hotel coffee is pathetic, so I boil water in a large metal cup with this immersion heater and make ‘cowboy coffee’ with my own finely ground organic coffee from home, steeping it in the boiled water for a while and then filtering into another cup. Works great.
