Good Quality, Glass Bottle
I avoid the dl-alpha type E, which is what most Vitamin E supplements seem to be. This Solgar Vitamin E is naturally sourced d-Alpha (not dl) plus it also contains other mixed Tocopherols (d--Gamma, d-Delta and d-Beta). I also like that it's in a protective, dark glass bottle. Gluten, wheat and dairy free. 400 IU is a good strength for daily use, and there are 250 softgels in the bottle. More expensive than the artificial E brands, but this one is good quality. I've bought this brand for a long time and I'm pleased with it.

Not all Vitamin E supplements are the same - the composition matters
I've been taking a daily Vitamin E supplement for several years, having first read the recommendations given in one of Dr. Andrew Weil's books on natural health. His recommendation was 400 IU of mixed natural tocopherols, with instructions to avoid dl-alpha-tocopherol, the synthetic form.My previous choice has been the Puritan's Pride E-400 softgel tablet that has the same composition indicated on the label as this product from Solgar, This time I decided to try the Solgar softgels since they're available here on Amazon and the price is about the same. These softgels contain 400 IU of Vitamin E as d-Alpha Tocopherol plus d-Beta, d-Delta and d-Gamma tocopherols, thus fulfilling the objective for 'mixed' tocopherols. The labeling states that the formulation is 'natural', the softgels are oil based to help absorption and assimilation, and they are gluten free, wheat free, and dairy free, as well as having no yeast, sugar, sodium or any artificial flavor, sweetener, preservatives or colors. They come in a sturdy glass jar and the softgels are rather large (about seven eighths of an inch long) but easily taken.I don't claim to be able to notice any beneficial effect from taking Vitamin E. I take this along with a specific variety and dosage of other vitamins and my objective is to maintain a long term regular regimen of vitamins that will hopefully help me to maintain a healthier body.Adult RDA for Vitamin E is considerably less than these tablets (22.5 IU/day). Note that one mg of alpha-tocopherol is equivalent to 1.5 IU (this specifically applies to only the natural form, not the synthetic form). This 400 IU dosage is what is typically found in daily supplements, which range from 100 IU to 1000 IU. The OSU article I mention at the end of this review states a tolerable upper intake level of 1000 mg/day of alpha-tocopherol, equivalent to 1100 IU of synthetic of 1500 IU of natural tocopherol. These softgels are therefore well within the range of recommended dosages and well under the upper limit stated.Solgar is a new company to me, however I am impressed by the fact that they've been in business since 1947 and are U.S. based. A quick web search found no negative reports on the company. For a very complete scientific explanation of Vitamin E, I suggest going to the webpage of the Linus Pauling Institute of Oregon State University (http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/vitamins/vitamin-E).I'm happy with this Solgar product and intend to continue to use these as part of my daily vitamin regimen.

No More Leg Cramps
In the past, I always bought Nature Made Natural Vitamin E (d-alpha) but this was considerably cheaper so I thought I'd try it.So glad that I did. The pills are bigger but are easy to swallow and they are much more effective. Really helps my circulation in my legs that I have had problems with since I was a teenager especially if I stand for long periods of time.I avoid all Vitamin E products that are dl-alpha because they are synthetic and are not only not good for you but they don't work either. I took some a couple of years ago foolishly trying to save money and my legs cramped constantly and got no relief.I also take this to help with the pain caused by osteoarthritis in my knee. Helps lubricate my damaged knee joint.Very impressed with Solgar and plan to use more of their supplements in the future.

This is an approved brand for quality
I find this brand usually overpriced. they have a good quality rating and are probably worth more than other brands. Buying them on Amazon is a better deal than most and I will continue to use this brand for as long as the price is reasonable.

All natural D-Alpha vitamin E (not the synthetic Dl-Alpha junk)
I've been taking a daily Vitamin E supplement for several months, and have seen a noticeable improvement in my health. The most important (and difficult to do while shopping for supplements) to avoid dl-alpha-tocopherol, the synthetic form.I was looking for vitamin E tablets and there are many cheaper bottles as compared to the Solgar vitamin E. However, you will find that all of the cheaper versions of vitamin E are made from Dl-Alpha vitamin E (which is the synthetic version and harder to absorb by the body). This is made from D-Alpha which is the natural and easier to absorb version of vitamin E.These softgels contain 400 IU of Vitamin E as d-Alpha Tocopherol plus d-Beta, d-Delta and d-Gamma tocopherols (view attached picture), thus fulfilling the goal of 'mixed' tocopherols. The labeling states that the supplements are free of gluten, wheat, and dairy, as well as having no yeast, sugar, sodium or any artificial flavor, sweetener, preservatives or colors. The softgels come in a strong and sturdy glass bottle and the softgels are rather large (almost an inch long as can be seen in the attached picture) but they go down easily.

Natural vitamin E in oil base
This natural vitamin e in oil is excellent. I not only take for myself but give to my horses as well. The vitamin e in oil is better absorbed by horses.
